I just got a notice that my PSCC subscription was increasing from $15 to $22 per month. That’s a 50% increase in price!! It is making me rethink subscribing so I wondered what those of you who don’t use PSCC are using to scrapbook these days? I used to use PSE and am wondering if I should go back to it or if it’s even being updated anymore…
I have tried using Procreate on my iPad but, with my aging eyes, I prefer my larger computer screen.

I use Affinity. They are releasing a new version on the 30th October, and the current version is no-longer on sale on their website. Affinity works on ipad as well as pc

I personally use PSE but not the newest version. I did briefly consider upgrading not that long ago but with the price increase since I last used CC it wasn't feasible for my budget. In terms of current Photoshop Elements, it is still being made but it's not a one purchase & done, rather it's a subscription model kind of thing that is $x for three years (might be 2 though)

For pocket page, you can use the app Project Life and the app Studio (I think available on PC too) have a system of layers and has shadows

I got my subscription for a year at the old 9.99 usd price for photography package- pscc and light room. If i still wanted to do it monthly it was a higher price. Take a look at the yearly price for PS CC @janedee

Thanks Christa. I will definitely check out their annual price.

I haven’t heard of either of these but will check them out

Yep I've tried a few & currently use Photopea the free version but have had some issues. I still mean to try the $5/mth version (I don't know if it's AUD or USD b/cos I'm pretty sure it's hosted in Europe somewhere) to see if it overcomes at least some of those issues.
If you don't want to use templates from our designers or just want to use them as a sketch, Canva can work but it has issues & limitations as well. They are always adding bells & whistles but they're not really digiscrap useful IMHO & the layers capability can be frustrating if you are a lots of layers, use everything scrapper that likes masks and blend modes.
I'm currently looking at RAW handling & processing prog options instead of Lightroom and the whole photography & design world seems annoyed with the subscription model & Adobe's price gouging so there's a lot of new options but it takes time to research and try everything but I feel your pain.

And re: PSE I saw mentioned above. Last I checked in Aus, PSE you pay a one off fee (I want to say it was a round the $300 mark AUD) & that gives U access to PSE for 3 yrs but it was unclear to me whether they forced you to upgrade after that to still access your files. You do not own the program. It seemed like a bond you don't get back in case that helps

I currently use PSE 19 and live in Canada...I just looked into upgrading to PSE 2026...but it is $99.00 US money for 3 years now...I was like what? really?...I could be in real trouble if my PSE dies...I can't afford that and I do use a lot of styles and I do like my templates to be actual templates...not sketches... :thumbsups Hope that helps you...

I think PS subscription is pricing out creators with the price. Still use PSE19 but have a newer version I haven't switched over to because it didn't import all my styles and fonts, etc and I got stuck! Another time. It is a shame that adobe is really messing with customers and always pricing us out, or just retiring stuff to make it harder for us to older versions.

Thanks everyone for all your helpful responses. They are much appreciated.
For now, I have re-downloaded PSE 14 so I will see how that goes.

This year I moved to the yearly plan for PSCC to avoid the price increase. I think I am going to explore using Gimp again. I used it for years and if prices go up for annual then I may go back to Gimp.
