Hello lovely friends! I am finally getting back into a rhythm of playing and I have to say it has been good for my tired soul. Also - those of you who have been praying for my kiddos - thank you so much! The oldest is doing so much better - he is on some medication that helps with his anxiety and the drama has come WAY down - YAY! and the little ones are too as life calms down a bit here at home. Last month I gave you some photos I had found in my Grandmother's house while traveling this summer - and I LOVED seeing what you all did with it. This month I have something new, but it actually came out of my playing with some of those old photos. I like to keep my hands busy while I talk to my Mama, and I ended up making this over the course of a week's worth of phone calls. The photo is my grandmother with (l-r) my mom, two aunties and my uncle on one of their beach trips. I made the background paper in stages - the bottom layer is a collage of old book pages I have torn out for art journals. The painting on top is arious layers of gelli prints and then some paint from cleaning my roller, all layered up. I added some digital elements when I pulled the page together that you can find links to in the gallery. And here are some of the goodies I made myself that you can have to play with: ZIP File: HERE Just the Elements: HERE Share something from your own summer adventures, present or past, or use a vintage photo in some way - if you don't have any you can grab the ones from last month HERE Can't wait to see what all you do - I JUST LOVE seeing all your creativity!
Thanks for finally making these photos "scrappable!" ...and for the goodies. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/08-19_playdate_lostmemories.402855/

Thanks for the freebies & challenge. I took your background paper, duplicated & flipped the copy, butted it up against the other, rotated it all and then applied a B&W adjustment layer to it. Added a couple of other papers & blended it all together. Added a few more elements & a photo of my godmother & mother. Called it done.
Thanks so much, Erin. I'm sorry to hear about your kiddoes, but glad to see they're improving. Sending hugs.
Marilyn! You're my kind of girl. I did similar stuff to this second posting. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/08-19_playdate_expectation.402873/
I used your paper, then blended two other papers on top, then blended your paper again on part of my page and used your circles. I found these long lost relatives online. Thanks for the great challenge.
I chose a few older & not as old photos, but went with a vintage feel. The Carolinas are so varied in what these states offer. Love that! Thanks for the challenge, even if I leaned more toward scrap than AJ. Seems to be a trend for me lately, LOL!
