Fingers crossed I don’t have to re-do this one...it was a challenge! But thats not a complaint, promise! One of the best things about MOC getting out of your comfort zone. I enjoy the challenge. Bring it!
I'm going to admit. that was really hard. eek. It's not very easy to recolor in Artisan and have things still have dimension (or I just plain don't know how). So I had to hunt and peck for white things. LOL
I am struggling big time with this one - I have my photo and my template (bottom right) sorted but am happy to change to any of them to make it work (I love the dimensional title work) but with having limited knowledge of effectively recoloring or changing shades of white in PSE 15 to meet the criteria I have no idea what to do plus most of my white things are either alphas or papers. Can anyone help me with either ideas or techniques on how to stretch what I already have?
I love that baby photo of you, too cute! Why not clip some white papers to the elements in the template? That will lessen the need to find other white elements, but still a pretty cool page!
A photo of my husband's grandfather William. Hope my whites are white enough! I changed the slightly coloured elements to pure white but it did take the texture from them so I made them smaller so it was less noticeable.
For anyone struggling with recoloring to white, another tip that helps is to do a black and white conversion first (shift+option+cmd+b on a Mac). Change the preset from "default" to "Maximum white" this will remove tints ... alternatively, if you have a black/dark element, do those same steps, but choose "maximum black" and then invert (cmd+I). You can use curves or other tools to easily lighten/adjust elements once you've removed tints.
Under the touchup ribbon I used lighten on the flowers in my layout. They were white but had a lot of gray to them. Using lighten was like painting them white but still having the ridge definition and associated shadowing of the elements. It was cool using a feature I'd never tried before.
MOC7 Always Has So Many Interesting Challenges...In The Years That I Have Been Here & Have Never Heard Of A White On White Challenge...I Find This Challenge Confusing...I Looked Through The Thread Here & To Me It Looks Like A Lot Of The Layouts Contain Grey & Not White On White...I Have Trouble Distinguishing The 2 Sometimes...It Says White But To Me It Looks Grey...This Doesn't Seem To Comply With The Rules To Me...I'm Very Confused...Either Way...I Have A Finished Layout Here To Post & To Me It Looks A Lot Whiter Than A Lot Of The Ones I See Here In This Thread...So Hopefully It Is O.K.... *For My Paw-Some Winter Layout-I Used: *Out Of This World-Pink Reptile Designs *Home For The Holidays/Fur Babies-Puppy Dogs/Little Forest Winter-Kristin Aagard *Countdown To Christmas-Little Butterfly Wings *Hello Mini-NBK Design *Winter Day-Sahin Designs *Glisten-Dawn Inskip(1 Item Used) *Baby It's Cold Outside-Gennifer Bursett(1 Item Used) *Happy Christmas-Aimee Harrison(1 Item Used
Did you see the tutorial I posted using PSE 15 on how to convert elements to white? Its in Post #2 directly under the original challenge post.
I found this the most difficult layout so far and something I need to really teach myself how to do. I am really not that happy with this layout but I don't have any time to work on it.
This was a tough one! Hope everything here is "white" enough edit: After posting this, I'm noticing that a few of my elements and papers look less "white" here than they do in my program... same computer. Hope this meets the guidelines
