What a fun challenge. I was inspired by the Magazine cover. This is my Great Nephew Jimmy Liberty in his football photo.
Here is mine. I ended up using a font for my title & subtitle, but clipped a paper from Amy Wolff to it. So 100% of TLP products used is for four different papers, white, greenish gray, black & yellow. No recoloring of the papers, I was able to find ones that matched to my photo.
My inspiration collapsed when I saw this challenge . I had the subject, but putting it in a suitable form, that was something else. But, finally, after rotating, splitting, rearranging everything a thousand times...
I feel humbled by the pages that precede mine, but here it is for better or worse! https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/moc8-day-7_magazinestyle_surprising-pittsburgh.416138/
I am so happy that I am DONE with this one - this was truly not my style.... It's a recipe for saffron buns with almond paste and a description on how to make them.....
I used a template (removed all of the shadows) for my page. Headline is "First Day Hike." Thanks for the fun challenge! It was weird not using shadows.
Oh I loved this challenge. First it got me into an 8 1/2 x 11 size layout; secondly I'm not very good at shadows anyway (sigh...). At first I thought travel but then I read an article this morning that reminded me of the importance of "daily" which was encouraging so I took that theme instead. And, although this is not a flattering photo, it does reflect my "start of day" so it is appropriate -- need to remember this first thing in the morning.
