MOC8-7

Description
The photo is one I took on a totally filled transatlantic flight around 2009. The layout was inspired by an old Bon Appetit magazine page.

eta The grainy/grungy look many have liked is by using the dissolve filter. The original photo is color and quite clear.

Thanks for looking!
Sigh. Your page is so true. I remember in my early 20s, flying was SUCH a privilege. We dressed up! Now I just dread every part of it...would rather drive for 1.5 days to visit our out of state kids/grands, than fly 1.5 hours (Plus getting to and from airport, being there early enough to get through the TSA, even as pre-approved flyers, waiting in over-crowded terminals with people talking in outdoor voices on their cell phones all around, squeezing in to smaller and smaller personal space on the plane, etc.). By flying we end up saving only the half day extra it takes to drive, and are uncomfortable the entire time from when we leave the house until we reach our destination. Flying really IS "for the birds!" However, in winter, flying is the only option as we are unwilling to drive in ice and snow. I think many people would consider this a First World Problem. But I LIVE in a First World country, so it IS a problem (to which I see no solution). Still, better than wagon trains.

I love the grainy, gray you used for this. Perfectly captures the mood.

This is so striking. I love the grainy photo treatment and the colors and scale of your title. Great take on the challenge!
