The original photo was a snapshot taken with my phone,
rushing to make it before she jumped down. This resulted
in a not so inviting background. I decided to crop the photo,
clone out the too busy lines in the background and
adjust the photo to my liking with a levels layer in PS.
Here's mine. It was tough to make a LO cuz there are so many clashing colors lol. But I didn't want to make the pic b/w: I wanted to show off how unprepared we were to take a photo of all the extended family!
This is a photo that was in my MIL's collection of photographs. It depicts her and my hubby and his sister when they were little. The photo looks as though the developing was improperly done, not to mention the fact that the subjects are poorly placed on it. But it's still a treasured photograph stopping time.
Here is mine. As much as I wanted these pics to be clear and bright, they are dark, grainy and blurry. However, the memories of her fun times are there. I used a basic editing action to brighten the photos, but otherwise they are as is.
These were pics that my daughter took of herself underwater. I normally would not have scrapped but a few of them and would definitely not have done the ones of only body parts , but I think they fit perfectly here!
These are Christmas lights taken out a car window so there are some reflections and blurriness. I think they are all imperfect! However, I just decided to embrace them and scrap them anyway!
The photo in my layout is a photo of the original polaroid photo, so it was a bit dark and it's not sharp, but it's such a fun photo. It is unfortunate we don't have the original photo, it was for a guestbook of a wedding.
Photo taken from my iphone. I didn't zoom in & the coloring was dull. I cropped it zooming in on my son and his grandmother. I also adjusted the brightness and hue.
This is a very very old photo (I think 30 years old) - it has a very noisy background and me & my sisters were "lost" in that big picture.
So I just cropped it and enlarged, so now we're the focal point
Mine is imperfect because I didn't capture what I wanted to. We were at a Jedi Mickey dinner at Disney World during Star Wars Weekends, and Darth Goofy totally photobombed my husband while he was posing with Mickey. I was about a half second too slow in getting the shot off, but there is a blurry Goofy in the background!
This was a great challenge for me and really had me thinking. I learned create a new look as a result. Thanks!
Technique:
My imperfect photo was a shot of a Cambodian cultural dancer. It had a very distracting background and bad lighting. I extracted her, layered on top of a clear shot of Angkor Wat and ran a watercolor painting filter over both. This helped to soften the imperfections of the dancer photo and gave a nice feel to the layout.
Original imperfect photo:
here's my take. i used a photo that was a bit blurry and definitely dark but it captured the moment and was the story of his new lt up hat so i just went for it
