We adopted another dog and two bunnies today! My IRL friends were teasing me about being Amanda's Humane Society. A perfect subject for today's page!

I had the same problem so I googled and found this youtube video very helpful. Maybe this will help you (assuming you're using PSE):

There Are So Many BEAUTIFUL! Layouts Posted For This Challenge!...I Don't Think Mine Is Quite Up To Snuff Compared To Everyone Else's...But Ultimately For Me It Was Such A Struggle To Even Figure It Out!...I Am Just Happy To Have Completed A Layout At All!...I Used The Minimum Layers!...3!...& Yes! I Had A Bit Of A Problem With The Shadows Too!...But Upon Reading Some More Tutorials Here...I Went Back & Revamped The Original Layout Post & Added More Shadows Using The Blend Modes...At Least Now I Feel That The Layout Looks A Little Bit Better!...My Layout Is All About My Butterfly Utopia!...Again! Thanks! To Everyone Who Helped Me Out!!!!!!!!!...Hearts & Hugs!...:ballonhang :heartslub...

I seriously could play with this forever, but will call it done. Had some difficulty with the original shape stacking as I was trying to use the inner shadow on my shape layer and reduce the fill of the shape to 0, but it was giving me grief with trying to sandwich elements between.
But, once I got that figured out, it was cool to play with the shadow sliders and see the effect of tweaking them.
