January 11: On This Day (Journaling Challenge)

September 11th 2001 is a date familiar to most of us - here is my experience of that awful day.

It may not seem like a significant day but it is to me. Such a sweet moment with my daughter (rare to go to lunch with out the boys) and a neat connection made that day to her great-grandfather. A little moment, but significant in the story-telling.

OK, lost the first layout, so did it again. Now some of you on this site know my story because I shared it on another site with you. Many of you don't know, but here is the day I waited 59 years for!!! Here is my story------ (aww, man! Will someone tell me how to turn these tears off! I'm going to ruin my computer!!!)
190 words.

Date is in first line of journaling.

Ok, so I'm going to do this. I'm going to journal and scrap the day my life as a mummy changed forever. The day that I can picture like it was yesterday. The day I stopped taking photos for 6 months. The day my little boy was scolded by boiling water. I'm crying already. But there's a double empty pattern page in his 2000 album with one photo and a postcard, sitting there, waiting for this day when I could finally journal one of the most painful periods of my life. The day my now 18 yr old son still bears the scars of. Wish me well! (I can't believe I'm sobbing already! All's I've done so far are scan those things!) :(

Hello everyone and welcome to day 11 of our MOC! Today I have a Journaling Challenge for you.

Hey Heather, I was waiting for my birthday tomorrow, how easy would that be? But no, I was sorting my albums yesterday and talking with my best friend/scrapping buddy and for some reason I showed her my son's 2000 album with the undone double page...and here I am about to do it. So I'm still not sure whether to thank you or not! But I am good at procrastinating! ....Ok...here I go...

just want to say this was an amazing challenge and there are so many different ways people used the date idea... there were the lifecycle events/birthdays, births, weddings, the historical events and then the many many personal ( and often challenging) dates in ones life. it really showed how journaling and scrapping not only give insight into (real) life but also can be therapeutic. thank you to those who shared some difficult challenges. reading them helps me know that i am no alone in what i face each day. also it was great to read and see the many blessings we all have in our life. i am so glad i scrap and that for this community from around the world. i do believe people have more in common than not.

Here is my attempt, March 16, 2012 the day my life changed forever, i dont deserve it but i got the most amazing miracle ever
