Jan. 18: Art Journal (Style Challenge)

This definitely was a challenge - but kind of fun - I love the pencil sketch effect on pictures!

I've never done this before, so if I'm missing something, please let me know. It actually ended up being a bit of scrap therapy as well!

PAINTS (purple glitter paint)
SPLATTERS (blue and yellow)
GESSO (background paper is all gesso. you can see texture around the top of the layout)
STAMPS (enlargement of the girl in lighter ink is a stamp and kiss mark stamp)
STITCHES (on each word)
DOODLES (the smile)
ELEMENTS (cut out words, sequins)
A FACE (worried lady at the bottom)
The wording is about how a mom is badgered and "Mommed" all day, but in the end shes glad shes wanted and needed by her kids!

I used a paint brush and a gesso from a non-Lilypad designer. I think this is less than 25% of my page.

Omg.....I am struggling! I've been working on this one for 3 days and this I'm gonna scrap it and start fresh. I'm an arty person but for some reason art journal style is so hard for me! What the heck!

My art journaling usually turns out so messy that I really don't ever want to see it again!!! I am giving this another try to make it have the art journaling feeling and still be fun to look at......not sure how art journaly, but I love looking at it, it makes me laugh, just like him!
