Happy Things in Your LIfe?| Pad Patter 4.22.16

Trips to Scandinavia and sons getting Eagle Scout awards...awesome things there. Eagle Scout takes a lot of work to get to. Our oldest son got his. Second son lacked writing up his report on his project. I really kick myself over letting him get away with that now.
I think I would've died. My DS, for as much as I love him, is lazy by default. I guess that also comes from being 17! He has Asperger's, so this is quite a feat for him. My job tonight is to carefully get him through the paperwork without seeming like I'm breathing down his neck, which is in fact what I'll be doing!

@QuiltyMom - Way to go!! I feel your stress and relief!! Got two Eagle Scouts and they both took it down to the line, turning in the paperwork on their 18th birthdays.

Glad to hear your foot is healing, especially since you will soon be putting it to use in a gorgeous country. We want pictures!!!
Why do they wait until the last minute? My sister was an ASM with her son's troop, and she said it was the norm, not the exception. I think they do it to give their parents more grey hair...

And I'll be sure to post photos of our trip. I'm so excited about it.

My husband told my son that he couldn't get his driver's license until he made Eagle. He was 15 and only 2 badges and the project short of getting it. He finished it before he turned 16 -- so that he could get his license. I'm not sure this would work with all of them. Getting to Eagle is an accomplishment for the young man and his parents!

@scrappyjedi no, not for this project. I already had print credits for those - so it was a quick $5 order on that.
I did work on splitting up some of my other layouts - got through about 55 layouts, splitting them up, uploading the pieces to shutterfly (currently offering free prints) - you would still pay shipping - so I wanted to do as many as possible. Their cart will only allow you 250 prints at once, even though it says unlimited. So... I could order 250 prints, it worked out to $25 ish for printing... but multiply that by however many orders I'd need to get them all "free"... ha. It was a lot of work, a lot of manual work.... we'll see if I can make it happen going forward, maybe.

I got accepted at another graduate school. Back to online, but it has an important accreditation that will help keep curriculum more on track. And a good reputation.
Will, my oldest moved into his own apartment instead of a room and I think this is a positive move for him. It's been a long week as mom is the back up call, so glad it's all over except the shopping for a few things.

I survived a trip to 2 Walmarts! to pick up something my husband ordered. Unfortunately, he told me the wrong Walmart but I did get a bunch of flowers as the sun came out as I got there! Tomorrow I plant!

What fun to read all of your joys! I'll be back when I have a little free time.

I like this thread! I'm happy that this past weekend went so well - all the effort and preparation came together. Some years I stress out over it all but this one was good. It was our Pascha (Easter) and I probably love Pascha more than Christmas. So, tired but happy!

Linda told me she was making a gnome house in her garden, naming it cath's gnome house. (i kinda like the gnomes in farmville)

I'm happy because this week I complete 2/3rds of my assignments for uni. Oh, and I graduate on Friday...nothing major :P
