There are buttercups (my favorite wildflower) all over my lawn.
The Tri-Level Brownies I make every time my girls perform with their drama club came together very easily today (sometimes they are difficult).
Tonight's opening night performance was fantastic! I've watched a lot of these kids grow up and develop their acting skills over the years and they're awesome.
The show is called "Elementary: A Whodunnit Riddle of Fairytale Mayhem"
Today my husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary! We were going to go to the beach when he got out of class, but it rained, so we ordered pizza (Mellow Mushroom- half/half Holy Shiitake and Thai Dye- yum!) and played Lego Dimensions on the XBox until he got sleepy. And we still get to go to the beach tomorrow!
Last night some of his "guys" came over for dinner (mussels in garlic white wine sauce) and a movie. They totally wanted (they actually asked!!!) to see Pride and Prejudice! We watched Sahara last time and Casablanca the time before that, so our movie nights are nice and varied. I think next time we may watch The Martian.
WOW, what a wonderful thread!!! It's shortly after 1 a.m. and I woke up and can't get back to sleep so decided to visit my favorite spot. And here is this awesome thread to put a smile on my face!! At my age, I am just happy every morning; first I woke up!!! YEAH!!! I have a roof over my head and food on the table. All my needs are taken care of and there is even some left over for a few "wants" here and there. Yes!!! Doin' the happy dance!!!! And I am especially happy for all of you and all your "happys"!!!! They make me happy!!!!
How wonderful to read all these little happy things going on with everyone!!! My happiness is my leak has finally been fixed and my water is back on 24 hours a day. I told one of my friends and she said, welcome back to the 21st century!!! LOL.
In other big news, I bought a new camera yesterday. I'm still in shock and haven't entirely convinced myself that I am "worthy" of it or "deserve" it. I've been watching youtube videos and tutorials to make sure I understand the settings. I took it with me to my daughter's dark gym and practice taking photos of her tumbling for practice.
All these happys are really making me happy. And winter appears finally over in Montreal. I'm not even caring about all the road construction..... I'm going to take the train.
Today! Sunny and warm out. Yesterday's temps went into the 90's and instead of being the cooler side of the 90's they felt like SUMMER! Our summers are so long and so hot that we kind of dread them coming. But I sooooo love the monsoon season that also comes with our summers. I even love the dust storms and Haboobs we get. So I can't complain too much, can I?
We saw Jungle Book yesterday...Disney's new version...and it was really, really good! Loved all the animals and the cute things they said and did. Disney did a good job on making them all look real.
Thank you. I love sending fun things to my grandkids. We sent them a "Poppin' Good Party" package one time. It was full of bubble wrap to pop, pop corn, bubble gum...all things that pop and are fun to do.
My mums are still blooming. Just tiny little buds so far. Loving that. And my lavender plant is surviving us so far. And that's really fun.

I'm totally going to steal this idea for my grandson who lives across state. That is awesome! I just sent him a present for his 5th b-day, and the report back was that the bubble wrap inside was the biggest hit (they didn't let him play with the toy set when he opened it because it was past his bedtime).
Sarita is almost healed from her operation, she starts tomorrow work again, less hours but she is very excited, and she is getting ready for UNi in October by tidying up her bedroom !!!!!!! we have tons of clothes to give to the charity shops!!!!!
1) We have our flight and hotel reservations booked for our trip to Scandinavia! Woohoo! Now to just figure out what we're going to do, although we have a good idea what that may be. I've never been to Europe before, so I'm stoked!
2) My son has one merit badge (hopefully to be signed off on this coming Monday) and his Eagle Project write-up to complete to be done with his Eagle Scout rank. Another big WooHoo! My stress level is receding...
3) I found the perfect pair of walking/hiking shoes (that don't scream UGLY) and they fit! I've a real hard time finding any shoes to fit, the Ahnu Women's Montara 2 Hiking Shoe - in PURPLE no less! Woot!
4) I can finally walk on my (previously) sprained foot after three weeks of hobbling around. What sheer joy it is to walk normally again!
5) That there are wonderful folks here at the Pad to chat with!
I'm glad to hear Sarita is doing well enough to head back to work.
Trips to Scandinavia and sons getting Eagle Scout awards...awesome things there. Eagle Scout takes a lot of work to get to. Our oldest son got his. Second son lacked writing up his report on his project. I really kick myself over letting him get away with that now.
Bubble wrap is always fun to pop. I don't think that will ever change.
That's great that your layout got put on the blog, Cath.
Today has been good. Woke up to my mockingbird singing its heart out. I love listening to mockingbirds sing. They are awesome in my book. And it was good to be at Church. Now we are cooking dinner. Smells good. Guess I'll go read a book while we are waiting for it to finish up.
Tomorrow is the start of our four day work week. Four days until our next three day weekend!! Yay!! I so love our three day weekends! And I have to do laundry tomorrow. There is an awesome pile of it for me to conquer. Should keep me busy for a while. Yay for washers and dryers!!
@QuiltyMom - Way to go!! I feel your stress and relief!! Got two Eagle Scouts and they both took it down to the line, turning in the paperwork on their 18th birthdays.
Glad to hear your foot is healing, especially since you will soon be putting it to use in a gorgeous country. We want pictures!!!
My oldest "baby" turns 25 this week. When did that happen? So proud of him.
School is winding down for the college boy and the high school girl. Looking forward to summer.
