If you missed tonight's chat, here are some of the things we talked about!
What is MOC: Month of Challenges Officially. Month of Inspiration, friendships, creativity, fun!
I loved Cynthia's definition: I see MOC not as a competition but more like a workshop with rewards!!!!
Reading for Success:
Read the instructions. Then reread them. Create your page and read them again.
Not because we want it to be a chore, but because it's easier to fix it before you post. We have all been there - reading challenges late at night, skipping one of the instructions. Even Cynthia mentioned that she completely messed up the instructions on one of the challenges last year.
Conversations/Inbox:
Don't fret about contact from the challenge hosts or Julie. We message because we want everyone to get their gift card at the end. We want everyone to succeed! Conversations show up in your inbox. Take a moment and make sure they are turned on for Members. Click on yourself in the forum and choose "Contact Details". Then check the middle box.
We talked about how some of the challenges may be hard to us. Carol had a great response to that! "And when the technique is hard we all grow together." Everyone who has participated before commented about how helpful the forums are for questions. It's true - everyone helps out each other!
Current Product:
One of the requirements for MOC Challenges is to use 75% product that is currently in the store. We are sad that Dawn is gone and Amber retired so their products do not count in the 75%. Overall, we talked about how much easier it is to just use stuff in the store currently rather than figure out the math.
Retired kits don't count. There were a few ideas about how to make sure your kits are current.
Anne and Jess say buy as you create. Then you know it's in the store.
Our shopoholics!
Anne-Marie is a little more budget conscious and shared that she has a folder she's using to put kits currently in the store.
Lou has a spreadsheet that she uses with each kit she has bought. She checks the link to make sure it's valid. Kim also uses a spreadsheet.
You can also use your visual history. I like to look through that when I want kit inspiration to scrap with! If it's in my Visual history, it's in the store.
Visual History is available in the store.
If you are shopping, there are a few recommendations:
Sign up for Designer Newsletters. You never know what deals you will find there.
Sign up for the TLP newsletter.
Shop the sales: Wednesday SOSN; and Froggy Friday New releases. Don't forget Buy more Save More with BYOC the first weekend in January. And of course, attend the chats and scraps! Most of them have coupon prizes.
Have Fun!
This was the overwhelming comment! Have fun, enjoy yourself and the ride. It's a crazy fun experience with a huge feeling of accomplishment at the end. The gift certificate is a bonus. The chance to win a Polly spot is a dream come true!

It's really fun to look back through and rediscover kits you might have forgotten you had!
