Hi everyone and welcome to the August Challenges! This month I am hosting the Scraplift Challenge and we are going to lift one of our brand new Pollys: KarenB or SeattleSheri!! Karen and Sheri are so very talented and they have such unique styles. Karen is a master of clean and simple with lots of whitespace. Sheri is the queen of layering and clustering with phenomenal shadow work. The challenge is simple. Pick a page that inspires you from either Karen's gallery HERE or Sheri's gallery HERE and scraplift it. Make sure you credit the original page in your credits, and in this thread show us the page you lifted as well as your scraplifted page. Here is the page from Sheri that really spoke to me: And here is my scraplift, inspired by the layering and clustering overtop a background photo, and the amazing shadow work: And please remember our regular monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the August Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
I'm going to lift this one of Karen's and do another page for my Travelers Notebook. Here's my lift - it's in my Travelers Notebook already.
I am definitely lifting one of Sherri’s but Im thinking I might have to do one of Karen’s too, they are both so inspiring!
This is so exciting! I truly cannot wait to see what everyone does with my layouts. I am definitely going to lift one of @SeattleSheri 's amazing pages @FarrahJobling You are so kind. I have spent years looking up to your beautiful layouts and awesome photography skills. So I am bursting to see what you come up with
Thanks for giving us a choice. Both have beautiful layouts but Karen B's clean and simple style really speaks to me. Here's the one I will be scraplifting: And here is mine:
I almost choked when I saw this challenge- I "stink" at clean & simple, and couldn't cluster my way out of a paper bag! LOL BUT... @SeattleSheri saved the day!! I see more than just clustering in her work. I'm going to try this one: I saved several to lift later!!! HOORAY!
@HeatherB I LOVE how your page turned out! I'm so excited to see all of the lifts this month!! @KarenB I will most definitely be surfing your gallery for a lift or two I know I have a lot of "stuff" on pages, so hopefully that doesn't scare people away I can't control myself from using all of the pretty elements in kits!
Love the two wonderful artists you've given us to lift! I chose this lovely LO from @SeattleSheri Here's mine with the fantastic M3 1907
I had my son pick a number from 1-73. He picked 22 so page 22. And from 1-15. He picked 8. So this is the page I will scraplift! And here is my page!
Another Amanda and I were thinking along the same lines. My first instinct is clean/simple/graphic, so that's why I started with Karen's gallery. I saw dozens I could have lifted, but parked on Cheeky Crow (see gallery for links). https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/08-19_karenb-lo_clara-dandelionbouquet.401371/
