Love Our Designers | March 11 Li Li Wee is our Daily Crush! This isn't a traditional CHALLENGE in that there aren't any real rules. We ask that you scrap with the featured designer! It’s a fun event to encourage you to scrap with products from a fave designer or try a new (to you) designer. It’s all about having fun and celebrating the uniqueness of all of our Lilypad Designers! from Li Li's store abstract: "I am a self taught artist. Most of my products are drawn and painted by me. Some are created digitally using my Ipad. I am also a geek!! My style is quirky and messy!! I hope you enjoy playing with it as much as I enjoy creating it. Thank you for your support and I am looking forward to seeing what you create with my products. Do email me at liliartistry.wee@gmail.com if you have any enquiries or requests." Today, we are highlighting Li Li Wee that has been a guest for as long as I can remember and you may also remember her as a Polly, her gallery is full of awesome pages and she has been wonderfully quirky, messy and an artist from the start! Her pages always made me stop and look at the details and her products always make me do the same, especially those papers which can be such a timesaver and are as realistic looking as they are artsy! She is also well-known for her doodles and faces that are a staple in many art journal and photo-less pages here and embrace that 'perfectly imperfect' vibe and instantly create a mood so well! These are some of the products that I think of when I think of Li Li and her design style. Here are all the places you can find Li Li and her art: TLP Store Facebook fan page Instagram - Wee Li Li Art TLP Gallery This is a page I scrapped for this event! Everything in her store is artsy to me which made me think of these photos from a trip to an art gallery that I haven't scrapped before. I used Li Li's Life Oh Life paper pack as my background (with a Lynn G template); My Daily Battle (Cracks) overlays to add speckled (concrete) texture to the around and below the right photo & elements from her Thank You for Loving Me kit to add extra details like fasteners, stamps, doodles & additional paint. I've put together a blog post on how I took her cool red and yellow brushed painty paper from Life Oh Life papers shown (the original paper is in the before), and changed the colours to suit my photo tones (the after) to show just how versatile these sort of 'quick backgrounds' can be. (It would have taken me longer to figure out what paint to use and where to put it than just using a few methods to recolour the existing, perfectly placed paint). This is the blog link if you're interested in stretching your mixed media paper stash. Today you can grab anything of Li Li's from your wishlist and save 30%! Now it's your turn... Scrap a page using (mostly) Li Li Wee's products! Meet the gallery guidelines of 50% TLP product Post in the gallery and share your page in this thread (below). Be sure to come back tomorrow to see who the next designer of LOVE Our Designers will be, since you never know who will be featured!
I really love Lili's artwork, few years ago, I had the chance to chat with her in a chatting event, she is a very kind lady. I scrapped a page using one of her mini's that I really love. Thanks for hosting my dear. Wishing you a very beautiful day!
Thanks for hosting, Justine! Here is my new page made with Li Li Wee's Inspired by Love watercolor papers and elements along with the elements from Hold on tight as well! Thanks for the fun! I really enjoyed making this page!
Love this - grungy & artsy. Wish she would design more! Here I've combined her Thank You For Loving Me kit with an alpha from Kim Jensen - which I think is a perfect match to Li Li Wee's style.
Some of you were super fast! It's midnight here so i'm heading to bed and will check in tomorrow - happy scrapping
