Hi everyone! I’m excited to invite you to a new 'Hear My Voice' themed Mixed Media Challenge. Not familiar with the 'Hear My Voice’? It's a monthly collaboration by Rachel Jefferies and Lynn Grieveson Designs. Every month, they create rich textures and unique digital artistry using a variety of mediums, giving you everything you need to express your thoughts and feelings through art journaling or mixed media scrapbooking. This is a monthly space for collectors of Hear My Voice Digital Art to use their stash and get creative together. In this month’s challenge we will explore the theme of “BUILDING”, a concept that touches so many aspects of our lives. Challenge: Explore and interpret the theme of “Building” by combining various digital media, let your creativity flow and think about the many ways we build, both literally and figuratively. Building Something with Your Hands: Stacking bricks, arranging flowers in the garden, assembling that tricky IKEA shelf, watching a puzzle come together or planting a tiny seed and seeing it grow into something real. Building Memories: The scribbled notes in an old journal that remind you of who you were and how far you’ve come or the careful stacking of photo albums, each page holding a story worth remembering. Building Connections: A handwritten letter to a friend, strengthening a bond despite the distance. The quiet comfort of sharing coffee with a loved one, no words needed, just being there for someone. Building Traditions: The little routines that make life special, Sunday morning pancakes, the first ornament on the Christmas tree, a bedtime story or following a family recipe. Building Confidence: The first stitch in a new sewing project, the brushstroke on a blank canvas or the courage to try something new, even if it’s imperfect. Building Love: Holding hands, a hug, the simple act of showing up for someone, making someone’s favourite meal, tucking a love note in a lunchbox or leaving the porch light at night. Some ideas to get started? Try layering textures like torn paper, stitching, or digital paint to create depth. Bring in personal touches like scanned handwritten notes, old blueprints, or photos of everyday moments to capture the feeling of building something meaningful. Play with design, grids, stacked elements, or overlapping layers to visually support the theme. Have fun creating! My page is all about rebuilding my endurance and strength. January and February are always the hardest months for me, things that usually feel effortless, like working out or taking long walks, suddenly become a struggle in winter. So, my goal is to slowly but steadily regain my fitness and strength, ensuring that when summer arrives, I can fully enjoy those long hikes again, without feeling like I’m battling myself. For my page I used: Hear My Voice 21 Building. This is a product challenge, and Hear My Voice Products need to make up 75% of the products used on your page, but you can use any Hear my voice collection or even a combination of collections that you wish. See the notes at the end of the challenge for further product clarification. Challenge Requirements and Prize: Create a new scrapbook layout that meets the criteria listed above and ensure your layout is made up of at least 75% of 'Hear My Voice' Products (You may choose to create with backgrounds and elements from one, or a combination of Hear My Voice Products). The other allowable 25% must contain product from either Rachel's or Lynn's shop. Upload your layout to the Rachel Jefferies Designs Gallery at TLP and Lynn Grieveson Designs Gallery at TLP (when uploading into the gallery, you can specify additional categories under "Shared media with") and list the products used in your credits. For your challenge entry to be counted, you MUST upload your finished layout to this thread. Please link your thread to your gallery image as it helps us leave love on your layout (and validate your project). No double-dipping…your layout must be created for this challenge only, no others. You must create a NEW layout for this challenge. This challenge will remain open until 10th March. Don’t hesitate to tag me if you have any questions, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I also used HMV-Building along with one of Rachel's pocket art templates. Complete credits and journaling are in the gallery. I went quite literal in the journaling prompt. I'm in the process of building a wall unit from vinyl album modular storage racks.
Thank you for this great challenge! I too used HMV 21 Building to scrap my grandson using Magic Sand to build tunnels and race tracks for his Lightning McQueen car. He is sooooo focused on building the perfect place for his cars
