For those using other programs besides PS & PSE, as long as there are layers you should also have an easy time in doing "out of bounds framing" by erasing edges of the frame. Out of Bounds Frame Technique will touch on the following: Masking using Masks Using layer masks Using Clipping Masks and/or stretching your stash using paint transfers Instructions for slow scrap: Background Paper - Light textured or light patterned So you can blend. (Nothing too busy.) Photo - At least one photo reflecting the OOB technique 1 Frame - Kit frame or create one of your own (tutorial includes creating your own) Use at least 1 mask or paint transfer to clip photo to Elements of your choice but must include at least 2 staples Title & journaling (Can add other elements, JC, paper or word art) to complete your page. ***Journaling is at least 1 line + date Videos and writeups for PS CC & PSE are posted in the Learning Pad: PS https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/out-of-bounds-framing-in-ps.61592/ PSE https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/out-of-bounds-framing-in-pse.61593/ Here are some examples of pages I have made over the years using this technique: Hope you have fun!!!
Absolutely gorgeous inspiration pages, Christa. Thank you so much for the wonderful chat (even though my stupid wifi kicked me off a few times) and all of the work you did putting this together.
I used some paint, and made my own circular frame: Feb2019-Slow19 Stand tall by AnnaB posted Feb 19, 2019 at 2:36 PM
Beautiful page Carol! Thanks for coming to the chat and playing along with the technique slow scrap.. I love the out of bounds framing and the wrapping of the string too around the frame and through the tag!
Gorgeous and well done Marilyn! I like how you did the oob framing matching up to the sidewalk! Jack is a cutie.. what a great page! Thanks for joining in to at the chat!
well, my considerations are: this is not that difficult, but it's not so easy as I thought it would be! LOL I just loved to hear Christa's voice, and I'm so happy that I could understand almost 100% of her English, it was very easy to follow the steps, even if my PS is a much older version...and I've learned a few tricks about masking, just watching her doing the magic! so, thank you my dear! my page, and I'm not that happy with my OOB results:
Oh Ferdy thank you for the sweet comments re the video I am glad you understood my English!! Now I have got to tell you your page is gorgeous!!! I am surprised to hear you are not as happy with your page as I think it is exquisite.. the photo the masking just everything! So beautiful!!
@cfile oh, thank you! but please, don't get me wrong, I'm not that kind of person that says one thing trying to get compliments...I really thought I could do better, I think my OOB is not very smooth, the transition, IDK how to explain it...but it's OK, cause it's something that I really enjoyed playing and learning, can you believe it that I never did that trick with the "place" and "smart object" on the layer? me neither!!
