After a nap, I tackled the challenge again. I was looking through a kit and found a facemask that had the technique applied to it! I decided to try it on an element from the kit Mansion Masquerade. Finally, I had something that I could go with! I used Steampunk Wonderland for my background and most of the elements (the "blushing bride" wearing the "dispersed" mask is from Day of the Dead). I just HAD to try the technique on the falling "Alice," too. Here is my effort:I'm in the same situation and very frustrated. I've tried 3 times and my results look awful. One looked like it was a picture that had been vandalized with paint being splattered on it!
I'll give it another try now that I've had time to be away from it for awhile. The technique isn't my problem. It's the results.

I Don't Understand This Technique????!!!!...I Don't Use Photoshop Or Own Photoshop...I Use A Really Old Scrapbooking Program That Doesn't Even Have The Ability To Clip One Thing To Another So There Is No Way
That I Can Separate Anything From A Photo...This Is The Reason Templates Used To Be A Problem For Me But I Learned To Use PNGs...Maybe You Can Provide Us An Overlay That Is Similar To Use Instead Of This Technique...
Are We Gonna Be Penalized For Not Having Photoshop?...Help Please...Thank You...

My Program That I Use To Scrapbook Is "Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Designer Platinum" By Broderbund
I could play for hours with this technique to get it "right." Definitely need to try a variety of brushes to get different effects.
