Wrapping Presents Angst!|Pad Patter 12.16

I absolutely hate it! I'm putting it off for sure!

I have bought most of the presents for my 10-year-old, but not very many for the 16-year-old. None of them are wrapped and I really don't want to wrap them. I will I need to finish my shopping first, so I can wrap them. But I don't even want to do that. School gets out on Wednesday so I really need to get the wrapping done before then. Why can't I learn to wrap as I go.... Ughhh! I'm usually not a procrastinator but wrapping is one of the things I definitely procrastinate!

I just finished wrapping up some gifts for Connor, all Seattle Seahawks related-comforter, pillow, pennant, ornament. I had found some navy and grey striped paper a few weeks ago at Joann's which actually looked kind of like the Dallas cowboys. I used lime green ribbon to represent Seahawk colors; he will be able to spot his presents easily. But do I like to wrap stuff? Not really.

I hate it too. And I haven't started yet. Hopefully this weekend as it is sup'd to snow tomorrow. I can't believe how fast it is approaching!

I'm a terrible wrapper & hate it when people shake or poke or otherwise try to guess what's under the tree ahead of time...

so I don't wrap anything until Christmas Eve once the kids are in bed. My family celebrates on Christmas Day so I get theirs wrapped then, too.

Used to LOVE it - so much in fact I would wrap all of the presents my sister had for her family as well. Now - I don't love it so much!

This year wasn't AS bad - because, I bought REALLY pretty paper (heavyweight - with the cut lines printed on the back - @ 50% off at Hobby Lobby) and picked up some pretty ribbon and matching tags ... it was WAY overkill for as long as they stay wrapped (we celebrated Christmas with our son, DIL and grandbabies last night) - but they looked nice under the tree for a few weeks!

I do all the wrapping for my family, so it is quite the undertaking. I have to really be in the mood for it, and they're beginning to pile up as other (arguably more important) things come up.

I'm not the greatest at wrapping gifts, but if I didn't do it, they would all be in gift bags. Where's the fun in that?

I love wrapping presents. Always have. As the oldest, my mom used to let me wrap our presents for the family with her and since then I've always liked it.

I used to wait until Christmas Eve. But now that my kids are older I just do the presents as they come in. We usually order online mostly and so as gifts arrive I wrap them and they're done!!! :D

I don't mind it if I keep up with it a little at a time, and I haven't, so I'm dreading it. Hoping to get it all done this weekend and then relax.

I don't mind but I seem to put it off. I'd like to have that picture perfect tree of decorated presents, but it's not worth the hassle I get from some. Meanwhile I was going to do some today and so far, none.
Just think Anne -- two more sets of presents next year!

I hate it and with 9 grandkids (4 presents each) the stacks keep getting stacked (bigger bigger bigger)

Too bad you live more than half way across the country. We (dd and I) have been working (and will be) working almost every day through Christmas Eve at a Girl Scout gift wrapping station at the mall. We can wrap!

It is kind of fun but very hectic, especially on Christmas Eve --- those last minute shoppers.

I just keep my presents simple. Plain brown craft paper with a Christmasy plaid bow and a tag.

I used to make everyone an ornament and attach it to the gift. Then I found out that half of them were thrown out. So now I only make them for my daughters.

Hate wrapping, usually end up donating to whatever charity is at the mall to do it.

Nerd alert! Every time we had to give an instructional presentation at school, I taught how to gift wrap. I had some crazy options for cylindrical objects. Now, it's a chore. Fortunately my mom prefers an eclectic basket. I don't love gift bags on Christmas cuz it's more fun to tear through paper. I wrap each boy's presents in his favorite color. I buy one roll of red & one of blue. No labels needed. For work & stuff, I usually give something homemade. So, I stock up on tins, buckets, & goodie bags.

I used to LOVE gift wrapping. I'd spend forever on each present, making each one special. Now everyone gets gifts wrapped in the Sunday comics (which my extended family members thinks is hysterical!) or shoved into reuseable gift bags. They're both all about reusing/recycling and is very cost efficient! I also have to ship presents, so there's never any ribbons or bows. They'd just get squished!

I have a whole Pinterest board on gift wrapping ideas that I love to look at. Maybe one day I'll actually use some of those ideas!

Hate it! But, my kids love doing it. I just assign them different presents to wrap & bam, it's done! I do have to wrap a few special ones. I'm also horrible at wrapping. When I wrap it looks like a child wrapped it anyway...my kids are probably better than I am at it.

My mom used to pay us to wrap presents. I never understood why until I became a mom! We would use the money to buy presents for family members, so it was a win-win situation. We all loved seeing what our sibling(s) we're going to get ahead of time!

This is what I was going to suggest. There has to be some store somewhere that has complimentary gift wrapping. Once I was at Borders (long ago) where someone came in wth bags filled with presents and dropped them off while he went shopping in the store.

Oh yes! We wrap anything for a small fee. Okay, I know am being stereo-typical but those dad's come in carrying 2 large shopping bags, loaded with gifts. They drop them and then work out at the gym at the mall (we are right outside their door). Then they come back the next day with 2 more bags, etc.

Starting today, all purchases at the mall are wrapped for free by us (mall pays us). So yeah, lots of repeat customers.

i swear the gifts multiply over night. i thought i was finished today and then we went out picked up a few more things and now we are back to a big pile again!
