My 17 year old and I put on some Christmas music and totally ROCKED the house today. We did all the wrapping and I am smiling and the relief of it all being done, is like a big dose of Christmas SPirit too!
Love it!!! I spend days picking out the right matching paper and stuff to put on it. I used to make very intricate tags but with two kiddos I have zero time for that now. I love wrapping paper. LOVE IT!!!! can you tell I love it??? hehe
@QuiltyMom - I think that's one of the reasons my kids like wrapping them, they get to see what others are getting. So far nobody has asked for money...they are still willing to do it for free!
i'm done. but then again i always say that and something else arrives. it is not my favorite thing to do and i don't fuss about it at all. cheap paper and no ribbon or bows here.
I used to love it but ever since Atty was born its one of my least favorite part of the holidays. And totally agree with the other comments - the stacking and hiding is the worst. But I can't wrap until a few days before Christmas...otherwise Atty is asking if she can open the presents now.. or worse - sneaking to open them if we aren't paying attention. Gotta love 3 yr olds!!
My mom always does super detailed wrapping with matching paper and ribbons and bows. I'm lucky if I slap a bow on presents! I've tried some of the creative Pinterest ideas to up my wrapping love but I'm still not a fan of wrapping!
My sister stores all presents in an empty suitcase in her garage. She used to "hide" them in they are when her kids were younger, now she just puts them there so she will remember where they are!
I TOTALLY put it off. I haven't wrapped a single present yet. It's the 21st... so yeah, I really need to get on that. Tonight we have a dinner at church, then actual church for Advent and then I have choir practice after that, so it's probably not happening tonight. Maybe tomorrow. sigh.
I like to wrap, the fun part is trying to decided what paper to buy! You know they have to coordinate! This year I bought two rolls from Target..... even though there was plenty in our storage room. But that is the paper I can tell my older children to use for the gifts they bought. I'm about half way done with the wrapping as yesterday I went and had to purchase just a couple things. And then last night a bad cold hit me full on! Grrrrr! So today looks like a good day to haul them out into our den and put something on the tv........
I used to love to wrap with pretty ribbons, bows, and package toppers. Now I'm a little ambivalent towards it- I don't love it, but I don't hate it, either. I'm like @IntenseMagic - as long as I don't leave it until the last minute and do a little bit here and there, I'm good with it. I've been working on it in 45 minute stretches off and on for the last few weeks and only have the last few gifts that I picked up yesterday left to go. As long as I'm not wrapping on Christmas Eve, I'm good!
If I have the time, I love to stamp kraft paper and make my own bows but I just don't seem to find the time anymore. I'm always trying to wrap at the last minute so usually just use store bought items. This conversation reminds me now that I need to buy more tags It just went onto my list for shopping tomorrow. Hope I haven't forgotten anything else now.
I'm not too fond of wrapping these days. I think I enjoyed it more when the kids were small. I spent yesterday afternoon wrapping and got about 90% done, so I'm pretty happy now!!
Did mine yesterday and had cravings for bows and ribbons. Thankfully Walmart is too busy for that right now. I know it was this thread and really struggling with perfectionism this weekend which hasn't been a problem before. Have a few more coming in tomorrow. Still stuggling with getting this all focused on Christmas. Today I have no oomph -- no pressing things to do EXCEPT clean house. ARGH!
I imagine you already have a system of keeping track what you bought (not me, that would have been smart) but code the packages or something so you remember what's in there. Brilliant idea however.
My hubby and I finally wrapped presents last night. I am DONE! He isn't because he still has my presents to wrap. I'm sure he'll be up tomorrow night doing that. Lol.
PSA and enabling for people like me who find themselves without a set of tags at the last minute (or swear they bought some and can't find them) - there's always these printables in store
