A Week in the Life 2016?

I would not even pretend to be able to have time to sit and edit that much video, even if I knew how. :giggle

Me too! Although, I did just find out that Lightroom will take a photo of a paused video.

@bestcee Please explain how LR does this as I have inadvertently taken videos that I kept just so I could get an image from them.

I don't think I will do a WITL unless I do it later this month when we go to AZ. I really liked the book I did with a full page image for the start of each day. 7 chapters in a way and then the other page was a full page of portrait 3x4s. I think I could alternated that with a page of squares too. Very little embellishment but a lot of writing on the photos. Besides a lot of Ali's word art, I have her font so it looked pretty consistent.

I will look at it again on my computer tomorrow!
I know I played the video in LR, and had paused it, and lr had a button that alluded to taking a photo. Those are really bad instructions. I'll get more specific when I have it open!

Ok.. it starts today and I'm just seeing this, but I think I am going to jump in too! I haven't been finding much time to scrap and I am the furthest behind in my scrapping that i have been in a VERY long time... but, I have wanted to do this forever, but I never like the timing of the week that she picked. This time of year is our busy time with soccer and end of year school stuff, but I think it will be so cool to capture a slice of that crazy! I am going to do a two page spread only though. I'm going to captures via words our daily schedule and then mix in some pictures. If I do any more than that... I'll never finish! Wish me luck!

I have over 200 photos on the first day...my goal is to hand the camera off to different kids to get a new perspective....been hilarious...I have tasked the kids to help me keep this pace up all week! That will help the book be a bit fuller!

I like the idea of it but have never been interested in it. Only because I know I will make it into this huge thing that will take a long time to document.

I thought the first year it was blah...but my family loved it...they bring it up often, remember we were at the park? it was kinda rainy? you put it in that year book for the week? lol, so it is fun to remember. I really really like the idea of changing it up for Spring.

I've had to really work on retraining myself today for my plan for this year's a WITL. My typical project life is to take lots of photos and then do limited journaling (basically just labeling). I have had to force myself to journal things all day. I kept telling myself that I would remember, but who knows when I'll actually put this together so I needed to journal now. I've taken more photos than I normally do, but yet fewer than I normally do on a WITL. I have a method to my madness this year. I really want this year to be more about the words. We'll see...

@AnneofAlamo How many kids again? Have one journal for a day. Or have them right bits for the days. That would make it cool.
Sorry Tracie I was ignoring this thread cuz I thought it was an older one. This might help me work out of my burn out I know that sounds weird but I can make scrapping therapy. I may try it. Going to go check out Ali's sight. And I think I'll keep a screen shot or whatever with my sons -- he's working through a life change and at times drives me crazy. Maybe we can pick out a pattern. as for size. Well I'll think about it.

I plan on journaling each night long epic novellas! PLAN is the key word...so hoping it happens taking lots of photos helps me remember the story..I may not use every one...but I bet I do! bhhaha

oh @carilyne, alas, I would get bare minimum from 4 and the longest run on sentences in the world from two, and my oldest would have his beloved wife write one. She is an aspiring (and quite good) novelist! But, I think I would love the view point of each of them for a day, but my gabe? He leaves at 8am and returns at 10, exhausted. But I do plan on sitting outside and taking a photo of him tonight when big bro drops him off. He is at the Army recruiter right now....and I was not invited, even to take pics...gasp!

I'm really pushing myself on the journaling... it's so NOT my thing! I've managed to cover the front and back of one page in my bullet journal so far. My camera battery died, so I'm recharging it now. Should have thought of that last night!

Well it would be interesting to get bits and pieces. Just an idea? Homeschool idea? And it would be so cool to get his reasons for joining the Army (he did it anyway huh?) Just ideas. And that's where they are. Run on sentences and all it's a week in their life right now. I wish I had kept more papers of the kids. But you have probably been saving and scanning/photoing all along. It really stinks when mom isn't invited anymore (but we are still supposed to solve the problem afterword). Hugs to you as I know you weren't thrilled with this idea. Wow Gabe is working hard! You'll be lucky to have pics it sounds like. You could write his. He won't be suspicious at all if you carry a notepad around taking notes of any words he says.. LOL

I didn't take a lot of photos today. I was partially undecided on whether I was starting today, or next week. But I decided I would go with the flow, and my goal is lots of words. So I'm off to drop journaling into a .psd file.

I have a semi thought to add the words to a .psd daily, and then next week add in the photos and finish.

I'm thinking the same. Some I wouldn't have been able to take today anyway. So I can catch them up. The words are probably what needs to be caught today.
