A Week in the Life 2016?

@carilyne I probably should have put 2016 in the title (I might do that after I finish this post, if I can). I kept opening up last year's post thinking it was about this year :-/ I didn't intend for mine to go this way, but so far, I'm finding my journaling for this week to be therapy that I didn't know I needed! I've been rereading Ali's posts and realizing that this is my project. My PL book has journaling that's a little more "neutral" because I view it as a family book, from my perspective. I'm taking back a WITL this year as mine. I may do it differently next year, but this is what I need for this year. All that to say.... I think your idea to focus on journaling and art as therapy is a great approach to a WITL.

So what I'm doing is going well... what I can't wrap my head around at the moment is what I'm doing with it all. I adore the 6x8 size and shape, but I really want to keep this simple as a bound book. A square book (either 8x8 or 10x10) from Shutterfly is the best bet, but I so need a switch up from my usual square scrapping format. Oh well... I think I'm just going to have to get over and scrap square! Since I'm keeping things simple, I really want to get started with laying things out.... but can't until I make this decision! :dizzy

@tkradtke in so with you on the format! I'm not positive how I'm going to lay it all out in the end. That's why I'm just playing it by ear this week and getting the words down. The photos are being taken, and will be ready when I get to them. I'm using a 12x12 canvas to save as a draft, but my final book may be a totally different size.

And I adore the idea of making it all about you!

@klee73010 We are going to the Phoenix are...a couple of days up at Desert Ridge, then a spiritual retreat in Scottsdale, and winding up with a visit to our Mesa family. Acutally they are at the last street before AJ I think! My husband's son is a Prof at Arizona State and his wife is a hs teacher.

We are kind of in a different family situation this year. Both my boys are out of the house and on their own. My husband and I are "separated" and so right now it's mainly me --with coming and going of the others in my life. So I get taking your WITL as yours. I also see we can do another this year if things change. But I need the therapy part this week so that's why I took it on. Pictures will be more difficult. But I'll manage. Thinking of maybe using Liz's Artsy Journal but we'll see if that works. Just to make it something totally different. Maybe throw some art journaling in.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEep! I know where all those are. :giggle
when I actually go into my physical work office, it's in Scottsdale. Most of my family lives in Mesa, and I'm in AJ!

I have thought I might make this my WITL as I have the house to myself but I really want to get other scrapping DONE while he's away. Ah choices!

@klee73010 I was pretty sure you were in AJ. and I know we'll be at East Sheridan for the Memorial day weekend as it's our grandson's birthday. I'll pm you when I know the details and maybe we can have a coffee or iced tea?

I am hyperventilating...
argh
this is why PL and I freak out together...
so
I sit down to do Mondays....and go into complete panic to what photos to use, and I thought I could use LMs DYY templates, and I got more panicked! ?
what is my problem?

You're an open-ended person. That's all.

But though it's easy for me to decide, I am still up in the air about whether I want to do this project This Week or later or not at all. It's leaning towards the last choice as PL will be more than enough for me.

Since we have a trip later this month that is about a week, I think that is a better idea as it can be an 8.5x11 book in the cheapest album and page protectors. It's a vacation but it's easy to do two pages for each day or so I say today!

Oh Anne your problem is ...
Welcome to the rest of us. Some call it perfectionism (not really) my problem, others well I don't know. I think it's idea overwhelm. I know my expectations of what I want to do are greater than is necessary. I would focus on one thing at a time. Templates or design is probably first as that will tell you how many photos (which I am behind on). Then with that decision made on to maybe stories to tell? That's my process this time around. Now to actually do it.

That's exactly why I do "Project Kimberly". I make what inspires me and then sort of pull it all together to have essentially "A year in the life" more or less... I do take a lot of random photos and they get added to the book.

Which is why I closed out my attempts at assembling my Monday pages and now I'm watching youtube videos and playing with my new actions by Mommyish that I bought over iNSD weekend. :-)

snort! I think this book is going to be 40 pages long...2 pages already for just the morning! lol
but it is working! I got
Lynn Grieveson's Messy pockets and I like the look be back with pages, I hope! lol

I thought I was going to do it. Words aren't the problem for me. I cannot seem to remember to take pictures for the life of me!

I did take a couple at Ikea yesterday, but then ended up getting sick while I was there and forgot the rest of the day. LOL. Maybe I'll fake some.
