I'm mad at myself for even bringing this up.... but is anyone thinking about doing this next week?

The reason I'm mad at myself about it, is that I have such a love/hate relationship with this project. I absolutely LOVE the idea of it, but I have had moderate success with it the past two years. I start out with grand plans and end up with it just incorporated into my PL book. I honestly would like to make it it's own book, maybe that will be my goal this year if I decide to forget my frustrations of years past and give it another go. But the reasonable part of my brain thinks I should probably let this project go (but I can't!!!)... sigh.

So... what are your plans? Yes or no?

I always, always miss the official date? I thought it was in September? I want to do it, but I think I want more journaling this time. I want it to be more of a diary of words and highlights of photos, but my brain and life don't always cooperate.
@tkradtke can you link me to the official witL place, I am gonna google too. All my past WitL books are Sept/Oct, cause last year? was thru Halloween, and I didn't like that at all! lol

@AnneofAlamo here's the link to the info for this year http://aliedwards.com/2016/04/week-in-the-life-2016-join-me-starting-may-9th

I know what your saying about the words. That's what I lack and I what I think I want to use more of to make this project different than my regular PL book. I tend to rely on photos too much. Last year, I took so long to finish up my pages, that I had forgotten all of the journaling... so I just have labeled photos. I want to take better notes and make this something "more".

aaaaaaargh, I know no week is a good week, lol, I think I may do mothers day to start...lol, so I can guilt my kids to let me take photos on Sunday! bhahhahahha do a Sunday thru Saturday instead! woo woo
I think I am in! I am gonna diary in my bullet journal this week, and take pics! Come on, lets do it together!
I am gonna do a goal of 20 page book! With a center double page of journaling! aaaaaaaaaaagh!

I have all my photos from last year. I haven't done anything with them. Maybe if I combine another year this week, those two weeks could make a book? I know I can easily take the pictures... it's the after part! :giggle

I just did a two page spread in my bullet journal, top is mon thru sun blocks, and I am gonna journal like a mad dog all week!

Okay @AnneofAlamo... let's do this!

I have my abandoned bullet journal, so there's plenty of space left in it to record my journaling. I just have to decide whether I'm starting on Sunday or Monday. I may try Ali's Monday start, just to make it more different than PL, but I do PL Sun-Sat, so that is definitely more natural to me. I'm going to shoot for a stand alone book this year. I'm excited!!

It's the after that gets me EVERY time. I also never really go in with a good plan either. I'm going to try to work on my plan today... maybe that'll make the difference!

I am loving the Big Picture page for each day to start..that is going to be my focus for the day, finding the BP and then the rest should fall into place (at least in my brain)

I'm loving that too! I think I'll do an 8.5x11 book using Lynn-Marie's template builders (which I used for my NYC book and loved). I'm loving the clean look a Ali's project... simple, but powerful photos with lots of journaling. I need this to feel different that PL and I think this will do the trick!

I do have an itch to do 8x8, and use a free shutterfly coupon to print. But I'm afraid that won't feel different enough for me. We'll see.

lol to the Shutterfly coupon! That is usually what drives me! I am sticking with the 10x10 books (you probably know, but you can apply that 8x8 coupon towards whatever size you order). I have one Christmas book I did 8x8 and I think I am gonna reorder at 10x10 cause it makes me tweak seeing in on the shelf! lol
I used LM's for a DYD book and it was one of my favorites to put together! ♥

Would it be weird to have my albums organized by size?? My PL books are all 12x12 and I have started doing my trip albums as 8.5x11. Then I could do WITL as 10x10... lol! I wish Shutterfly printed 8.5x11, I love that size! I print those through MyPublisher and, although they have great coupons, I've never seen one for a free book.

My main reason for leaning towards the 8.5x11 is that it just feels different than all of my square scrapping. I think that's why I like using that size for my trip albums... it's a nice break.

I will NOT be joining this week, having JUST finished my last one. I am happy with my last (and only) one. I will do it again, but not this year. i think I will wait till late next year, and do it every othr year? idk.
My album for 2015 ended up being 30 layouts (some of those are the left and right of a double page spread).

I am totally loving my PL being 6x8 instead of square like everything else. I am doing my PL almost entirely in the PL app (though I do bring in extra stuff)

you Kristina @klee73010 is why I AM wanting to do it this year! lol
I am so happy it was inspiring... At first I was really thinking 30 layouts is too much for one week. But now that it's all in there... I am so in love with it, and Love Love Love all 30 pages of it.
Though, i am the only one that's read it, to date. My husband flipped through it and gave up reading by the Tuesday or Wednesday spread. :giggle

She changed it so that the big projects weren't all together (WITL, December Daily).

I'm in this year. I have all my notes and photos from 2012 when I attempted it. But I've never assembled. Mostly because I was still paper and that amount of photos to curtail was overwhelming! But looking back at the photos, I love so much about it. I love all the details of what we were like then, and since we've moved, I love seeing the house and our routine. It doesn't shine though in PL as much as in WITL photos. The other thing I love about it, it the thought process going into it changed how I take photos. I can see a difference in the subjects and how wide some of my photos are since I took on the project.

Here's my crazy: Currently we have 2 DSLR's. I'm tempted to set the older one up on the tripod, and just leave it so it's ready for photos. I also considered doing it in paper (the horror!). But reflecting has made me realize that it will never get down if I do.

I always sounds like a great idea....but the logistics. Ack!
I did a Day in the Life a couple years ago. I think that's easier to tackle.

Ooooohhh... that's a cool idea! I also have a wireless remote. Hmmmm....

I seriously considered taking over my husband's GoPro camera and strapping it to the ceiling or somewhere high in a different room in the house each day - then would have hyperlapsed the video just to be a "day in this room" type thing.

I would not even pretend to be able to have time to sit and edit that much video, even if I knew how. :giggle
