2016 Reading Goals

And if I hate Facebook? LOL. I know I have an account there, I just never go to the site.

I'm thinking maybe I'll track my books in my planner. Does anyone else do that?
I'm not a huge fan of FB either, but I really like goodreads. It's similar to FB in that you have friends that you can follow them and their books they read, but it's also a GREAT way to keep a list of books you've read, and books you want to read. You can also get a feel for friends who have the same taste as you, and read reviews of the books. If you're a book nerd, I think you'd love it!

I am doing the book club at Simple Scrapper which is a non fiction book every month and we will relate it to scrapbooking in our chats and things. I would also really like to do a fiction book a month as well. Anyone know a good book club for that?! Or do we do one here?! We used to once upon a time :) I really would like to read 2 books a month which is a far cry from the over 100 I used to do sigh...but baby steps and hopefully I will have more reading time again!

I set a goal for 60 books in 2015 and passed it right up. But what I want most in the whole world is to finish The Outlander Series. I've been working on Drums of Autumn for like, 2 years. So I'll probably drop the number a bit for 2016 because her books are so.freaking.huge. Suppose I should start weight-lifting now in preparation for holding them up.

I haven't gotten past chapter 3 in the first book! Everyone raves about the Outlander Series, so I picked up the omnibus on my Kindle. Maybe I should add that to my reading list for this year.

Oh I do have GoodReads, but I rarely ever go on there. And I don't track untill a couple months after.
I want to read more, but I just don't. Social media is getting into the way.
I like the idea of setting it a goal to read 20-30 minutes before bed every night. They say it helps your sleep if you shut down your screens a while before you go to bed.
I have been recently started listening to audiobooks while traveling by train. I LOVE it.
And then there is the fanfiction... I do read those. A lot. Does that count?

So my new goal, decided just now while tying: read a book for 20 minutes in bed every night.

The first Outlander book was so good. Like, in-my-top-3-historical-fiction good. I loved it. I'm such a sucker for all things time travel though! I'm just having a really hard time finished the series. She's a good writer, but there's a lot that can be cut from the books and they'd be better for it, kwim?

Ok. I shall give it another shot. I shall start at the beginning again, and see how it goes. I usually love historical fiction!

I'm glad someone else feels that way. There are a couple of Stephen King books that I've had to get on Kindle when I re-read them because they are too heavy for my pansy wrists now. LOL.

I find it easier to just see what Julie @mrs2a50 reads and posts, and then read it. Been my best go to good reads! My hubby even loves her picks!

I love Julie too. And not just her book picks. :giggle

LOL! I had no idea! This is going to make me super self-conscious for all my future book picks!! :thinking2

I know what you mean. I don't even really review, but I have had random authors see/like a brief comment on their book, so now I'm paranoid about saying anything. LOL. And I'm always worried I'll like a book and someone else will read it and hate it/feel like they wasted their time.

I have a friend who tried the Outlander series and couldn't do it. took her like 6 months to read the first and normally I feel the same as her about every book, so I have skipped these! I know people love them though! @gonewiththewind are you one that loved Outlander?

Right now I am reading a Thriller called "All the Blue Eyed Angels" I just started it on Chapter 3 and so far its good. I'll let ya know after I finish.

@crystalbella77 Yes, let's do a book club here again. Love that idea! Pick a book for January and we'll run with it. :)

So, I'm a freakishly fast reader. It's my super power. I read a whole book nearly everyday. I'm right around 330 for the year. Thank goodness for Amazon's lending program. I've been on a huge non fiction kick lately but I'm going to load up with some fluffy chick lit for the holidays. Good relaxation!
