I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm fairly new to this community and the only one I had wrong was Kaye's. Phew!
Okay ready for this? My name is Jewelle {pronounce it like Julie}. No my parents didn't spell it wrong, and there is definitely NOT two E's on the end. Some jerk of a secretary in Middle School refused to right my name correctly because it wasn't "correct English" and two E's made it correct.
We pronounce it winnie-key, not winnie-ecki
I think I've known you for the longest and I've never thought it was Jack. Now I do though!
People also ask me a bazillion times to spell it and they usually spell it KeLLa. LOL! This week my own son spelled it that way on a project for school! I totally got on him.
(Just kidding!)
Shannon - you have the cutest user name!
When I was in school every time we had a sub or I started a new class I got called Bryan. Even today people will call the house and ask for Bryan and I am like It's Brynn...then I get oh is he home? and I'm like uh Brynn is a woman and I am Brynn...or at the Doctors office, if it's a new Nurse or one I haven't met they always call for Mr. Dukes or Bryan Dukes.
For the most part I take it with a grain of salt. I only get upset when someone INSISTS that they know how to say my name {or spell it} better than I do!
. her name (spelled like that) means strength. so we went with that.
for telling me how to pronounce MY daughter's name. thank you.
however. i have had people INSIST it should be pronounced mee-gan. yes, i suppose if it were of english derivation, maybe that would be correct. it's not. now let me slap you upside the head with a rolling pinfor telling me how to pronounce MY daughter's name. thank you.

nothing better to do than argue over stupid stuff i suppose.
3 Anyway, someone called me out once! LOL They weren't nasty or anything but more like 'Who is Karah Fredericks?" all smart-a** like.
Haven't made that mistake since!
A NYer would never pronounce it care-uh. It's cah-rah. LOL! Do you like how I just told you that you were wrong with your own name?

Can't really mess up Miller now can you. And I don't think NYers have a different way of saying Gina. It's just "Gee-na". My maiden name would probably throw a few off though. It's Gabbola. Many people used to pronounce it "Gah-bah-la".
It's "Guh-bowl-la!"
