**Closed** Game: Picture This! **Winner Announced**

Oh, I love this thread! Isn't nature just totally amazing?!!!

I take a lot of nature photos - I love forest photos and photos of flowers and animals. I chose this photo from a couple of years ago, cuz it's so funny. This little fellow is SO PROUD! He's just stolen the entire bird feeder. Imagine how happy he is, collected all that food. :giggle I was a bit mean though, and didn't let him keep it.

LOL - you could enter that one into one of those funny animal photo contests. That little squirrel really does looked pleased with themselves! Great capture!

This one was an easy choice for me. Recently, on July 26 2025, I took a hike with some friends along the Teton Crest. The wildflowers were so amazing. Every time that I would think that I probably had seen the last of a field of flowers, I would be rewarded with a new view. I love the variety of colors of the Indian Paint Brush with the view of the back of the Teton mountain range in the back. What a blessing to see something that so many people who don't hike won't ever see. True it was 20 miles in one day but it was worth it!

Wowzers - that is jaw-droppingly beautiful! And great job on the photography to really capture all that gorgeousness! One of my photo friends has a cabin near the Tetons and I am jealous of the photo ops! How am I supposed to compete with that in metro Phoenix?! :D

Dinkey Creek is located in the Sierra National Forest and is a place I spent a lot of my summers as a child. Now, my kids are enjoying the same creek that I did. It used to be a place known for it's lumber mill and became a little unincorporated town many, many years ago. The army uses this land now but you used to be able to hike to the defunct lumber mill and you could still go inside the old cabins and sawmill incinerator.

Come on up and visit :)

Too many to pick just one but I do like this one. I woke up before the sunrise to get some shots before the tour buses arrived. Funny thing, my husband ended up appearing in some of them and I think he gave the landscape better scale. This picture hasn't been modified / as shot. Can't wait to scrap some pages from our trip there.

That is SO COOL! And I agree that having your husband in the shots is great for scale. Where is that?

That's beautiful! Yellowstone is on my bucket list. Love how you shot it in the snow.

We live out on the edge of the greater urban area right near a large resevoir. It is quite wooded and there are several herds of deer that wander freely in the common (ie wooded) areas of the neighborhood proper and the surrounding areas that are as yet undeveloped. They are not tame, but they not really scared of humans either. They can be quite close to the paths that I walk the dog on daily and can sometimes look them right in the eye as we go by each other. I'm fairly certain we had a doe give birth in the area between our house and neighbor early this summer. I captured this pic on one of my daily walks with the dog.

I love all the textures in the picture - from the stone to the leaves and the water. I love the colors of fall. I love the natural bridge and then the man made benches in front, overlooking the bridge.

My son has spent the last 10 weeks (tomorrow is his last day!) interning at the Mohonk Preserve in New York State. We were able to go up there over the fourth of July weekend. He's being housed in a Preserve house (sharing with a few other summer employees). The house is literally right off of a walking trail. His "front yard" (about the distance of a basketball court from his front door) is a popular spot for hikers to pause and sit. There is a bench and a few rocks. His "back yard" (about the same distance in the opposite direction) has a huge beautiful pavilion where they host weddings and other events. Here are two pictures I took showcasing this stunning view from his "front" and "back" yard! He's been in heaven all summer.

Beautiful spot and that natural slide looks so fun (although maybe a smidge painful too. :giggle)

I took this one in October 2024 when the Northern Lights were visible in the Connecticut. I got lots of photos of just the northern lights, but I really like this one of my husband taking his own photo!

The silhouette of your husband definitely takes this from a beautiful photo of the northern lights to something much more interesting and engaging. Love that! I was lucky enough to get some photos of the northern lights all the way down here in AZ this past year. It was something I never expected to happen!

That little fawn is precious! We have elk and deer near our cabin and it is always a treat to see them even if we are all used to each other. :)

I've been to this natural bridge since my mom lives not too far from there! it's one of those spots that really makes you awestruck from nature. The grey of the day and the fact that the stone is wet really emphasizes the stone!
