Nicknames. When I was a kid I wanted a nickname so bad! I had friends with nicknames - Melissa/Mel; Rebecca/Becky/; Jacque/Jac & siblings with nicknames - Nathan/Nate Dustin/Dut. It seemed everyone but my friend Sue had a nickname. And really, how do you nickname Sue? For awhile, I got Cory because my little brother couldn't say "nt" sound. My aunt Laura called me "Courty" Which I didn't care for since it felt babyish the way she said it. And people picking on me went with "Corny".
I never really got a nickname that stuck. Some people will call me Court, like my sister and that's cool. For awhile in high school there were two Courtneys. She went by Ceecee, so my friends would call me Cee (also where 'best cee' comes from
). I don't introduce myself that way though, as an official nickname. I no longer worry about having a nickname. I answer to most anything.
What about you? Do you have a nickname? Is it a shorter version of your name? Or a silly name you were given? Were you like me and wanted a nickname? Or do you hate having a nickname?

My sister would try to annoy me (and it usually worked since I was the younger sibling) by calling me Dawn the Pawn.
