January 13: Create a shaker box

I'm curious what the difference is between the 2 transparent covers... I can see the pattern in one, but not the other...

Allison was nice enough to give us 2 plastic sheets so we have more options. You may need to play with one or the other to get the look you want on say a light background compared to a dark background.

It's not required to use the provided freebie as the cover. It's just offered as a courtesy to help you in making a shaker box. :agree

Cheryl just did a Watch Cheryl Scrap tonight where she did the shaker box challenge. She'll be posting the recording in post #2 as soon as it's ready.

Thanks so much! I finally worked out something last night that I could recreate using a mask and different layers. I've used masks - and groups - before, but starting with my own "shape" (I modified a puffy sticker into a mask base) probably overcomplicated what I was doing.

I'm going to go watch the video now. Thank you!

I was really disappointed that the plastic film just did not show up much. The dullness of the sequins and flower bits is the only telltale sign.

Diana, this will happen with a light background but a darker ones shows all the markings.

I am struggling with getting the ripples to show up in my shadowbox....if its the very top layer I see them fine but as soon as I put it in the right place any detail of the plastic is lost....can anyone help me?

the darker the background on your shadow box the better the markings show.

I couldn't get my plastic sheet to show the depth I wanted, but I tried. It is there. . . 2 layers actually :)

One of the many fascinating things I found to photograph while wandering alone in Europe :-)

I used my Bittersweet Collection, plus lots of 'Simply Buttoned' buttons plus sequins from "Kindness changes everything"

Thanks for the fun challenge - I have never done anything like this before! I got the plastic as wrinkly as I could manage with Artisan - I inverted, played with opacity, but it's still hard to see. I promise it's there.
