January 10 : 10 Photos that Relate

I've done this kind of layout many times (my desk over the years, my favorite chair through the years, my kids at age 9, my favorite grocery store) and I wanted to think of something different. It occurred to me to look for inspiration in my 1970s photo folder. (I have a 1960s and earlier folder, but I wanted it to be about me; I was born in 1971.)

I saw this photo of my toddler self eating at the table and that set me off browsing for more photos about me eating over the years. The second photo I found was my teen self holding a can of soda, so I made it not just eating, but also drinking. Then I had to stop in the late 1990s instead of continuing into the present because I had already collected more than 10 photos!

 



1-10-10 PHOTOS THAT RELATE

I decided to show Liam's first 9 weeks in NICU and his going home! Liam was born 9 weeks early and only weighed about 3.5 lbs. He had a lot of steps he needed to overcome and succeed to be able to go home. Gain weight, lots of tests including MRI's, EYES, etc. PLUS being able to eat & breathe on his own as in weaned off the feeding tubes and being intubated. He mastered the breathing super fast but the eating took a bit longer right up to the last week then all of a sudden he was eating on his own without the feeding tube. He got to go home on his due date, 4.10.21.

These photos are from each week he was in the NICU and you can see the changes in him..

I find this one exceedingly challenging - so it will be a success when I master it. I have a photo problem in that I lost 2 years of photos PLUS I changed my operating system, and it renamed all my photos and basically just threw them in a folder haphazardly. I have to go through each picture to find what I want. They aren't listed by date or name anymore. They have a long string of numbers. That's it. UGH!!!

I am going to try to make it to the chat. It's been one of those days.

Susie, don't over think it..... go around the house, or around the block, or anything.... take 10 photos that have something in common, tell me what that is in the page description, done!!!!
