Favorite Childhood Toy | Pad Patter January 3rd

I had a Baby Crissy doll and I loved her. I believe I got her when my other doll "died." I don't have her anymore.
Awww I had a Baby Crissy doll, too! I loved her. And I had the older one, too.

I think my favorite was my Mrs. Beasley doll from the tv show Family Affair

I loved my Barbies as well. I had the Barbie airplane and used to pretend she was a flight attendant and I was sure that I would be one too when I grew up.

My favourite toy was probably the teddy bear I named "She Bear" - its the white teddy in this layout. I'm pretty sure 30 odd years down the track its still around the house somewhere

I was a huge doll fan when I was little.. and I still have quite a few of my "babies " from my childhood. I also have a massive care bear collection

thanks all, did day 4 on a smocked dress, odd where you get ideas for a layout. It probley wont meet requirments, but was nice doing it

@Memaw2Wm I had a few trolls as well. No house for them though. Hadn't thought of them for years! Just googled and our age is showing. They were created in 1959 and one of the biggest toy fads in the early 60's!

Yep showing our age. All of my trolls must have gone to my sisters, along with my Barbies. I do still have an elephant troll that I got at the circus one year.

My 25 y.o. granddaughter was giving me heck recently about giving away her Polly Pockets. Hello, even if I had saved them, would you want to store them in YOUR place??? I do have a ton of toys in my basement and attic that were my daughters and my grandkids ... LEGOs, Brio and Thomas trains, F-P dollhouse, American Girl dolls and clothes, F-P Rescue Heroes and Great Adventure play sets and people (pirates, castle, western town). Oh, and Little People ... I love Little People and there's quite a collection up in the attic.

I gave away a ton of stuff too ... dress up clothes, F-P Briarberry Bears, Groovy Girl dolls, Matchbox/Hot Wheel cars, Barbies. You just can't keep it all. But I do love dolls and toys.

Exactly. And when you have no children that would be around to clean out your house when you are gone, you have to do what you can to make it easier for those cousins that will probably have to take care of it. There is probably more I could get rid of if I really wanted to but what is left in the house would be manageable for someone else to take care of when needed.

As a child, I loved both dolls and stuffed animals, and used to hold imaginary tea parties where the animals and the dolls would mix and mingle! My favourite toys were my Teddy bear and my Raggedy Ann doll; and yes, I still have them:

I'm another who would say books were my favorite. I can tell you my favorite book series at various ages more than my favorite toy. If I had to pick toys, I'd say Barbies and my Cabbage Patch Kids. I still have the CPKs in my room today.

I wasn't big into baby dolls, when I was a little older (9/10 perhaps) I love the fashion dolls more - Sindy and a smaller doll called Pippa together with her friends. I did some googling a while back and the photos of Pippa and her accessories reminded me, when you bought things from that range, there would be coupons on the packaging you could clip and save to send away for free outfits.

I also really liked lego, spirograph, fuzzy felt and books. I can remember being gutted when I found out my mum had given away all of my Ladybird books to another family. Still a bit miffed when I think about it.

I have my mom's and mine Cherry Ames and Nancy Drew books, along with others from my childhood. Still have my Kreskin's ESP board game. might still have my Ouji board and Spirograph.

No LEGOs b/c they were "for boys" in the 60s, although a friend and I played with her brother's when he wasn't around. My daughter had Care Bears and Cabbage Patch Kids. I have a bin of her CPK and a few other of her dolls.

I still have 3 of my mom's Nancy Drew books from the 1930's. I've got 5 of mine from the 1960's. Then I have some that I bought maybe 15-20 years ago when Sam's Club would sell them in sets of 5. They are displayed on a bookshelf in the living room.

Mom was born in 1931, so hers are from the late 30s/early 40s ... they are "war" paper and the pages are oh so fragile. Mine are from the 60s too. My DD had a few Nancy Drew paperbacks, but she didn't love the stories and I have no clue what happened to them. She was a fan of the Sweet Valley High series and there are still a number of those paperbacks in my basement.

I had a Chatty Cathy that came with her own infant chair and table. I loved that doll (I still have her and her accessories!). I loved her so much that I broke her voice by pulling the string too much.
The other toy I loved was the rag doll my mom made for me. I named her Lori.
We didn’t have much money, so toys were few. We had a lot of shared toys, like games, Colorforms and felt stories (like Colorforms but felt). When I was in elementary school we visited my mom’s Uncle, who had a Drug Store in No CA, complete with a soda fountain! He told me and my sisters that we could choose any toy in the store that we wanted, and I immediately went for a Skipper doll. I made so many clothes for that doll over the years. It’s another doll that loved that doll so much.

Omg!!! I loved my Spirograph!!! In fact I bought a mini set a few years back when we were on vacation in Vegas at the mall. My hubby thought I was crazy.
