Great then and now layout, Sandy. I, too, remember similar trees from my childhood. Now I don't even put up a tree as we go to one of our daughters house for Christmas and a live tree there.
A great way to showcase the old & new Christmas trees. I do remember real trees in my youth, but my parents (and my grandparents who lived in the flat below us), decided to purchase metallic trees one year, complete with floodlights that would rotate & shine colors on the trees. Ours was green metallic, my grandparents' tree was silver. Those were the days...
