I have never claimed to be an artist, but I love being creative as well as being interested and good at technology which made digital scrapbooking an easy thing to fall in love with. I first scrapbooked when I was 11 after a trip to Australia but never fully took to paper scrapbooking as I hated being messy, could not cut in a straight line or any other shape for that matter and hated my handwriting. I stuck with that until my last year in high school when I took a web design course after a few years of computer courses and I somehow discovered digital scrapbooking. From then I was hooked. To start with scrapbooking was a way of documenting my life with photos and words but now as my life has changed it has become more of a way to document my stories and feelings without photos. At times it has also been a constant creative companion that keeps me in a positive state of mind when life is tough – sometimes all I want to do is get messy with some digi paint, stitching and words. I am honestly not sure what I would do without this hobby while I am in this season of my life where outside hobbies just are not the right fit for me. I may take big breaks at times, but it never takes me long to fall headfirst back into some good feelgood creative time scrapping my afternoon and evenings and sometimes wee hours of the morning away.
