I just saw your layout and started crying. I cannot think about that day without tears and hearing President Reagan's speech about them "Slipping the surly bonds of earth and touching the face of God". What a wonderful way to memorialize these brave men and women.
This is a phenomenal layout. When thinking about this challenge, the Challenger disaster popped into my head to scrap as I clearly remember being in the library at my high school and the Librarian bringing out a TV to watch the news report. You did good! I don't think I could have done the same justice that you have with your LO.
This and the Colombia disaster are two vivid memories I have of a time and a place, just the mention takes me back to those places. Wonderful moving page. x
What an amazing tribute to the flight crew of the Challenger with this amazing storytelling. I didn't realize that the cold night was the underlying cause of the disaster. I remember watching this over and over and being stunned about what happened. What a great page! Thanks for playing along with my challenge!
My father just sent me an email of a newspaper clipping that he found in his files from this moment in history last week! I love how you documented this terrible tragedy and honored those lives that were lost on this sad day in history.
I too remember this vividly as I was shopping for my daughter's 5th birthday (which was the next day on Jan. 29). I stopped in a Sears store by the TV displays to watch the launch and saw the tragedy unfold instead. You have done an amazing job of documenting this horrific event.
