One day early in 2011 Heather posted a message asking if anyone wanted to join her for walks while she trained for a march for a special campaign. I had been wishing for an exercise partner and immediately replied. Already we knew we shared a love of photography, and we are both homeschooling moms.
We have been walking on Saturday
mornings ever since! Occasionally other days instead, if we can’t Saturday.
We walk all over the place and not just
in Fredericksburg. Here are just a few
photos from recent walks. Top left is
Lake Anna. The bottom photo probably
needs no caption; yes, that’s the U.S.
Capitol. And we often map our walks
with an app, just because it’s fun.
A great thing about our walks, aside
from the walks themselves, is the
effect it has has on my personal
efforts to walk. It took a long time,
but by 2015, I had even established
a routine of DAILY walking. In the
last photo I’m walking in my own
neighborhood. I used to take a lot
of pictures while I walk. Lately,
I’ve been more
interested in
podcasts.
We have walked all over Virginia. In
cities from Alexandria to Richmond.
Colonial Beach to Ashland. Prince
William Forest, Great Falls, and a few
nature preserves.
We walk all year long,
bundled up in winter,
and sweating through the summer.

Journaling superhero! I love the subtlety of the ink and paint in your border, and how you've incorporated a screen shot into your layout in a way that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
