This is the left side of my two-page layout created for Day 10 - Photos that Relate challenge. There are 10 photos taken in June-July 2005 and they all tell the story of how we became a family. This is the right side
A little background info - it had been agreed - even before we got married - that once we do, my husband's sons from previous marriage would come to live with us the following school year. We didn't know it at the time, that transcontinental relocation was in the stars... so when four months after the wedding my husband was offered a position in Jakarta, we timed the relocation to early summer so that the boys could come with us and get used to the place a bit before the school starts. Those first few months were crucial to all of us becoming a family - the two of us and two teenagers, who missed their mom, friends, food and country and needed all the help and support we would give them to adjust to such a fundamental change in their life.
The photos also loosely - and bizzarely - relate to our present circumstances - 15 years later we are in exact same position - moving to Jakarta for the second time with two teenagers - for the second time. lol... you couldn't make this up!!!
There are so many details that went into this layout, and I've enjoyed exploring them all. The framing, the blending, the little details, all make for an eye-catching layout.... and what an adventurous life!!!
Olga, I'm so so delighted you decided to go for something that goes beyond the simple and obvious choices!!!! always LOVE knowing about scrappers stories..... some of my best friends of LIFE are scrappers I started getting to know through pages like this, shared history of family or just some of our path in life...,. I reckon what makes scrapbooking more than art is that there are many of us who keep the stories alive, and this is amazing....also, like you well said : you can't make this stuff up!!!! love how you combined blended photos with the frames, stitches, little bits and pieces, I get the feeling of a journal hand made (my most favourite) and brilliant to know a bit more of your history brilliant page!!!
Thank you so much for playing with us!!!
