The month of September has been designated as Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Childhood Cancer Awareness month. These two cancers are especially meaningful to me because not only was I diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March 2011, but our family has dear friends whose son was diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately, there is not much that the average person can do to fight off cancer for our friends and family, but I think it’s always a good idea to be educated so that we can be better prepared to support our loved ones. I blogged about ovarian cancer and its symptoms last year. You can read that post here. This website has some sobering statistics on childhood cancer.
So how does this apply to scrapping? Not only has scrapping some of my difficult moments served as a sort of therapy for me, but I’ve browsed the gallery and found that others feel the same way. It was encouraging (and a little emotional) to read the journaling. Here are a few of the pages I found.
