Travel minis
OK confession time. Every time I go on vacation I plan to make a great mini to document it. I work out a rough plan, collect ephemera, take lots of photos, come back home all buzzed, process my photos, collect bits from my stash, make a start.. then reality comes crashing down and I never finish it. Last year I went on some amazing vactions to Cambodia, Singapore, Venice, the Greek Islands, Thailand and a South East Asia cruise. Although I have done layouts of these travels still no mini albums. So today I want to inspire everyone, and myself to make minis of your vacations, wether they are a weekend away at the beach or travels to far off lands. Firstly some great products in the store to inspire. And for even more inspiration here are some mini books from my pinterest … [Read more...]

Good Idea!
Hello Happy Scrappers!PolLiana here, with some shortcuts that will make your scrapping easier and faster. Are you a bit new to digital scrapbooking? I started about a year-and-a-half ago and along the way, I've collected a few really great tips that helped my productivity a great deal. Here are a few of my favorites:1. When you finish a layout, commit to a workflow to save your image and use it consistently. For me, I use Photoshop and I save a PSD version with layers (in case I want to change something later). Then, I flatten the layout and save a jpg version. Lastly, I resize and sharpen for web and then save a web version. Might create more disk space but then I've got all three versions.2. Program a keyboard shortcut to flatten your layout when you're done. I use command-F. I find this very helpful if I'm using photography actions in PS, too.3. One of the very best … [Read more...]

(note: ALL images are linked, so click and go!) This is Firecat by David Rakowski. Perfect for those camp fire shots! Or those really hot days that make you feel like melting. Here's a font that's good for water scenes. It's playful and the spatter isn't too much-just right! Sideshow font. Meet Riesling, a retro 1920's-ish font for those times you'd like a font that's classy, just like the museum or restaurant you just had a date-night at with your spousal unit. Wooden Doll Tutorial
Greetings, Happy Scrappers!Polly Liana (PolLiana?) here, with a tutorial on how to make fun wooden dollies for dramatic play with children. I've been teaching kindergarten for 20 years and anyone who knows me is aware of how much I dislike cartoon princesses and blond, leggy dolls with tiny waists and huge boobs. I'm not a fan of their general lack of diversity, skewed body image and inflexibility of character. As a mother of two awesome young girls...(insert gratuitous photo of fabulous daughters here) ... I wanted dolls that are diverse with realistic body forms and are neutral enough to play a variety of roles-- vs. a character from a movie, who is difficult to imagine as a surgeon when she's wearing a huge, sparkly ballgown. I also didn't want to spend a ton of money and I wanted something that would last (no tangled hair or limbs that pop off). Enter the peg … [Read more...]
