Greetings Pad Scrappers!

Polly Liana here, getting super excited about the upcoming Month of Challenges here at the Lilypad.  It starts January 1 and during the month of January we will introduce one new challenge a day.  If you finish all 31 challenges, you will receive a $20 store gift code and you will be entered in the running to become our newest Polly!  (For those of you who are new, a ” Polly”–short for Pollywog– is a member of the site’s Creative Team.  We help to run the different parts of the site, connect with community & beyond and create lots of layouts to inspire and promote products from our store.)

Whether you’ve been here for years or you have just connected with us for the first time, you’re bound to have seen the unique community that the Lilypad has here.  It is the loveliest group of talented scrappers and crafters and offers one of the strongest, kindest and most supportive international networks on the Internet. There is no better time to see evidence of this than during our Month of Challenges.

There is also a whole forum on the Month of Challenges here.  In that forum, I found a terrific post by a new member of our community named Elizabeth, who asked some great questions and got some great answers about how to prepare for and manage all the challenges.

I myself have yet to complete all 31 challenges because January is always an intense time at our school.  However, I do jump in and complete some of the challenges from time to time because every time I do, I learn something new and I’m inspired to create a new page.  And those are always good things, right?  Right!

Besides being challenged to try new techniques and create pages, I also love watching how the community supports one another through the fun and challenges of this month.  It’s like going through any other thing that takes grit, determination and perseverance– it almost always brings you closer to the people with whom you are participating.
