Froggy Finds: Ephemera

Hey Hey Hey Pad Scrappers!

Polly Liana here, with another installment of Froggy Finds.  For this one, I was inspired by a fun activity I did last week: I pulled out a box from my childhood and went through a bunch of things in it.  My favorite find was my sticker books.  It was so fun to see all the different kinds of stickers and bits of papers I cherished from when I was a kid. I remember how I used to carefully categorize them and flipping the pages brought back all the feels.  I love vintage bits which is why I am so drawn to ephemera.  For those of you who might be new to the concept, ephemera is little images and bits of paper that are meant to be short-lived but also are connected to a feeling of nostalgia.

We have a lot of wonderful collections of ephemera here at the Lilypad and this month, we’re featuring two posts dedicated to products that were released years ago but are stunning and rich with history.

One of the first designers that caught my eye when I arrived here at the Lilypad in 2012 was Sahlin Studio. Designer Krista incorporated lots of delicious vintage ephemera into her earliest collections and I have loved every one of them.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Next up are some lovely vintage goodies from Lynn Grieveson and one little cutie from Mommyish.  Love all of these for mixed media layouts!

And lastly I need to throw in a plug for a little bit of wonderful (and endlessly useful) ephemera from my friend Kim Jensen.  She’s got two great collections: one alpha and one with dates.  They remind me of dry-cleaning tags and they’re easily recolored to include in any layout:

In our next installment I will be featuring our Queen of Ephemera: Paula Kesselring.  She is unmatched in her ability to find, create and deliver exceptional ephemera collections… but you may have missed some of her earlier work.  Stay tuned!
