So we post in two spots & the gallery...right? I decided to keep my page pretty simple & ease myself in...credits posted in gallery & you can see what my journaling says!
For the 2017 Month of Challenges (MOC) at The Lilypad. I’m also trying a poem a day (The Daily Poet) for 2017; today this went together nicely. Elements are from Lynne-Marie (M3May16_cat-stamp); Rebecca McMeen (Raven_CatWithMessage, Raven_Paper9 SteampunkAlice_ChesireCat); and Sara Schmutz (country-cottage_monogram-C). The font is AnAkronism. The poem is mine.
My inspiration was a great pic I got while visiting my cousin (Holly Hundt). This is my title page that I'm going to use to start off a few pocket pages of the visit.
On and off all day I've been looking at the layouts for this first day of MOC. I am so inspired and in awe of the talented scrappers posting here! Humbly, I add my layout - an Ode to the letter J.
This is my first completed layout in about a year... Thanks for the challenge.
Journaling reads:
"James Colin MacLeod, your arrival this June was the highlight of the year for your Daddy and me. It also meant the addition of a fourth James to our extended family. This total soon went up to five, when your second cousin was born just over a month later. When we visited Ontario in September, we were able to get a photo of four of you at a barbecue to celebrate Jason & Stevie’s wedding. Your great-grandpa was delighted to hold the two babies. It was late in the evening and you had both fallen asleep. Your cousin slept right through, but you woke up just as we started to take the picture, and you were not very impressed at us for waking you. Mommy’s cousin James just smiled for the camera. Sadly, we’ll never have a picture of all five, as Mommy’s Uncle Jimmy passed away years ago. It is so nice that this name is now being carried on by so many."
