Journaling:
I’m taking a minute to tell you what your life is like right now, so that one day you can look back and remember this little slice of life. You’re staying at home right now with Kara. It’s been fun, though you did just start teaching her how to read. That’s always a tough job! You do laundry on Mondays and take Kara to tumbling. In the evening we try to do Family Home Evening. Tuesdays are usually pretty relaxed, especially now that Cub Scouts is on Wednesdays. Wednesdays are busy...there’s playgroup, sometimes a PTA meeting, usually a Young Women’s meeting, and then there is the Young Women activity to top it all off. You also pay bills on Wednesdays and look over your finances. Thursdays are ballet for Kara, Excel for Clark, sometimes Book Club or Relief Society. We usually try to fit the grocery shopping in on Thursdays or Fridays. Fridays come with their own challenges. Saturdays we have Kent’s ninja class right now. Hopefully that will change soon. We hate having things scheduled on Saturdays. Sundays are more meetings, church, and then a visit to either Grandma and Grandpa’s or Gigi and Boompa’s. Then there’s the cooking dinner, bedtime routines, piano lessons, chores, etc. that you manage. It probably sounds like a lot, but there is a lot of opportunity for free time and flexible time. It’s been such a joy to stay at home with the kids and get to know them really well. You’ve had plenty of opportunities to learn new things and accomplish big goals. You’ve been able to really grow over these last 11 years. I feel like you’re going to have a lot of changes coming up in the near future. Deciding when and how to go back to work is going to happen relatively soon. I can’t imagine what the running around will be like when that happens. Everyone will have to pitch in a lot more to cover the things that you could do on your own before. Just know that you’ve got a great family, no matter what. They support you in everything that you do.
