Journaling: " When I was in second grade (age 7), Mom got involved with the Audobon Society. She loved bird watching and went the full gambit of buying all the different bird seed, the binoculars and was even filming the birds that came to the feeders. In time she would get involved with the birding field trips, and we would go on trips with the Great South Bay Audobon Chapter Mom was involved with. In time she would become the President of the Chapter as well as the Editor of their newsletter. Here she is on a field trip (which was probably Belmont Lake State Park), and was looking for a rare bird or two."
