the place to go for the latest in trends….

The pad of course! 🙂 Hiya friends! Shanna here again. Its super sunny and hot here in Northern California today, and we are loving it. We just got back from a day at the river, does it get better than that? I think not!

 

One of the reasons I love The Lilypad so VERY very much is that they have all the HOTEST trends. The designers really seem to have their finger on the pulse of design. They know whats in, what we want to see, and what we want to create. They are amazing! We have some of the most inspirational designers, aren’t we lucky?
Pinterest is always one of my favorite places to go to get inspired and see the latest trends and what people are doing with them. Since pinterest has come into play, I am constantly amazed by other people’s creativity. AMAZING!

Of course we all know that documenting everyday life  has been super popular with paper and digital scrapbookers alike, and in the past six months or so it has just exploded.

Many of our designers have answered this trend, and most recently Amy Martin hit it all of the ball park! How much fun are these?

 

The classic triangle seems to be capturing the eye of many talented people these days, and Jacque Larsen just couldn’t pass it up with this adorable set… I mean HELLO how can you say no?

 

 

 

One thing I could NOT LOVE ANYMORE… WASHI! Its so much fun! The perfect detail to any project. Its all over the place on pinterest and you know Sahlin Studios is Ah.TO.THE.MAZING with this kinda thing!

 

CONFETTI!!!!! Who knew this would be such a trend? I sure didn’t. But you know who did? Sara Gealson! Because she is amazing like that. I am so glad she did, its SO MUCH FUN!!!

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
