Paislee Press

Today is my birthday and what a great day to announce the arrival of Paislee Press to the Lilypad! Liz Tamanaha is the designer behind Paislee Press and someone I have admired for some time. Her style is minimalistic, but always with a unique flair. You can read more about Liz and her work on the Paislee Press blog. Be sure to check out her amazing Project Life work while you’re there.
I had the opportunity of interviewing Liz about herself as a designer and a creative person, and here is what she had to say.

How, when and why did you start designing?
It all happened..by accident.  I started scrapbooking (paper first) in 2001. The first time I opened photoshop it was to “stitch” together two scans of a 12×12 paper layout so I could post it online. Then slowly, I started using photoshop more regularly for photo editing. I didn’t venture into digital scrapbooking until 2005 and even then I only really intended to use photoshop to make mock up pages for our wedding album. It’s been seven years and we still don’t have a wedding album. It’s on my list of things to finish one day.  Right now I’m perfectly content with making layouts/photobooks of my two daugthers (ages 3 and 4) and designing kits.  Never in a million years could I have imagined that I would be doing what I’m doing now and I couldn’t be happier.

Do you do any other crafts?
Does collecting recipes and DIY projects on pinterest count as a craft?  I’ve amassed a long list of things I’d love to do one day but right now, scrapbooking and designing is taking up most of my time.

Do you have any favourite blogs you visit regularly?
