Now that the holiday dust is settling, it’s time for mobile highlights! This month I picked six layouts that really stood out to me. Incidentally, I recently created an Instagram account just for my scrapping, you can follow me at @sirscrapalot on Instagram.

I loved the use of stars on this layout by @destinyscraps. Having them go around in circles really gives movement to the page. I also love the glittered edge of the paper.

The colors in this layout by @iowanatheart really are striking. The use of black, white and gray with pops of color makes a bold statement on the page. I also love the idea of these colors and a layout using snowflakes! So original.

The painted star paper piecings on this layout by @ellen.h.tucker is what drew me to it. They are such a nice, rich color and make a great backdrop for the photos.

Speaking of backdrops for the photos, this layout by @onaboorman13 expertly uses paint and embellishments to build a nice base for the photo. The use of all of those elements really adds depth to the page.\

Sometimes the smallest things can draw you to a layout. This layout by @jillwscraps jumped out at me because of the shadowing on the paper flag in the bottom left corner. I want to touch the screen because I think it’s real. When you zoom out, the shadowing on the whole page is expertly done.

Finally, this art journal/mixed media style layout by @sbpoet was striking to me in how it uses blocking on the background. Blocking isn’t something that I usually associate with art journal layouts, and I was struck by how nicely the two blended together here.

Well that’s it for this month. Keep sharing your layouts using the #the_lilypad hashtag!
