Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen here bringing you my monthly overview of the 7 new challenges for May. As a reminder, based on our percentage system, you can earn three levels of coupons for the store just by participating in our monthly challenges. In addition to the coupon, if you complete all 7 challenges within the month of May, you will be entered in a drawing to win a one month guest spot on the Lilypad Creative Team! This month we are once again offering TWO guest spots. The discounts available are as follows: 2 challenges = 10% off, 4 challenges = 20% off and 6 challenges = 30% off. Now let’s take a look at the new challenges:
1. Template Challenge – Amanda (gracielou) is hosting this month’s template challenge. Valeria of Little Butterfly Wings has supplied the free and gorgeous template to play with for May. All you have to do is download the free template (image is linked) and then create a layout using that template. Here is a look at that template, followed by a sample layout (swoon from Amanda’s hybrid talent):
2. Random Challenge – Amanda (MandayKay) is the host of May’s Random Challenge. She is challenging you to make sure your page for this Random Challenge has a title on it. Amanda is giving you the freedom to decide whether your title is created with one or two alphas, fonts or a combination, just as long as you make sure to have a title on your layout. Here is a layout by Amanda to get you started:
3. Product Challenge – Julie (mrs2a50) is hosting the May Product Challenge and has selected journal cards as the product to play with this month. I remember when pocket scrapping was becoming so popular and the fabulous designers here at The Lilypad were creating so many creative and gorgeous journaling card and I thought I couldn’t use them just because I was doing any pocket scrapping. I was thrilled when I saw that you could use them on regular pages too and I wasn’t left out in the cold. Ha ha! Here is a perfect example created by Julie:
4. Scraplift Challenge – May’s scraplift challenge is hosted by Ashley (ashleywb) and she has selected Sokee (aka Barbara) as the person to scraplift this month. Your challenge is to look through Barbara’s gallery and pick a page you love and then create a layout inspired by her page. Here is a layout picked by Ashley, followed by Ashley’s scraplifted version:
5. One Word Challenge – Renee (renee82) is hosting the One Word Challenge for May. She has picked the word “Outside” and the word to inspire your page. Here is a happy sunshiney page created by Renee to show her boys’ happiness for finally getting back outside after a long winter:
6. BYOC Challenge – This month we have the rare occurence that the BYOC challenge came out on the first of the month along with all the other challenges. May’s BYOC Challenge, as usual is to use 90% of the products on your page from the current BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.
