WWYD: Getting loaned items back

I know this is probably the nuclear option, but, since she has had months to return the books and continually finds ways for it to be inconvenient for her to do so, could you simply request that she pay you for them? With a service like PayPal she could be anywhere in the world and send you the funds, which would remove any excuse except for her not having the funds in the first place.
 
I'm sorry this hasn't worked out - yet. Some times the simplest things...as in just return the books...gets to be a long drawn out deal.

We are talking 120-150 for each book versus 20 or so to courier them plus I actually want the textbooks for class this semester (admittedly they are old but still good as references)
