Since I'm on a lap top, my favorite place to scrap is in an old, worn recliner (came with my husband) in the living room.

An issue I run into however, is sun light. As in too much. When the sun comes in windows in the morning, the living room lights up...and it alters the way I see the computer screen. And yes, I tried adjusting the lighting on the screen, but the sunlight simply produces too much glare and reflection. The way I perceive colors on the screen is too much altered with that early morning sun.

We LOVE the natural light, and our plants need it. So, when I can't see my screen, I move into a nice little space I have for crafting. But, the ambience is not the same. Oh-well. At least I can see.

Where do you scrap? Do you have a special spot that has a lovely ambience that promotes creativity?

I like my Kitchen nook... I get to overlook the backyard watching the birds and critters romp during the day and I have my little TV for noise and watching.. It is a comfy spot and close to the coffee pot :)

We have a love seat recliner, I scrap there on my laptop with a laptop desk. I like it because it's comfy lol

I scrap in the living room. We have our lap tops set up on fancy big desk like tables in there and i sit on the couch scrap away while Eric does what ever or while he's at work...

I have my laptop always at the dining table in the livingroom. I have a own craftroom upstairs but I like to sit in the livingroom because of the light.

My childhood bedroom was turned into a sitting room/office 30 years ago. It has evolved into a craft room/office/TV room. I scrap using a desktop computer with dual monitors so I have a desk set up in this room. I have a loveseat in the room where I sit when I just want to watch TV and have Peyton cuddle next to me. Peyton is on it most of the time even when I'm not if she hasn't pulled her bumper bed under my office chair! (Where she is right now since I just got home from being away for a couple hours).

Since it is a room of its own, I can just shut the door to hide any mess when I have company over.

We scooched our dining room table over and I put an IKEA desk on the opposite wall. There's a giant picture window that's perpendicular to my desk, but because of the way my screens are angled, the light never glares on them thankfully. But, I can stare out the window when I want too. I use a desktop, so I'm stuck there and can't move around. I often wish I could scrap on a laptop on the couch, but also, I'm too spoiled by my giant screens, so a laptop screen seems too small to me now. (and my eyes are OLD!) :giggle

I scrap on a laptop so I like to sit sideways on the sofa in our living room with my feet up. The sofa is right by a window so I have to keep the blinds shut while I'm scrapping or the glare kills my sensitive eyes.

We have our PC setup in the basement. We have a newer home, so it's not like the old 70s basements lol. More like the walk-out kind, even though we didn't opt for the walk-out and have a large window instead.

I have a PC desk with large 27" double monitors. I love it

I love my scrappy space in the new house. On the 3rd floor there is a huge foyer in the middle with all the rooms leading off of that. It is about 22x16 feet, it is bright and open with lots of light coming in but no light shining directly where I have my desk. The previous home owner had this area as their office too and had already put a shelf in on the wall and the outlets are there. It is open and airy, the dogs can lay on the big rug I have at the one end or can go lay on one of the beds with the door open so they can hear me. My hubs likes it b/c he can be on the main floor and blast the tv and ipad videos and I faintly hear them but it is not too distracting and I can play movies/videos as I scrap, on my ipad that sits on my desk alongside the computer and monitors. I couldn't be happier in my scrappy space.

"Pictures tell a thousand words." :) This picture (which I took a little over a month ago) doesn't fully answer the question though. Those windows are east facing, so yes, early in the morning, if I'm at my desk, the sun can be a slight problem. But only slightly, because this 2020 iMac has a matte screen. Anyway, I rarely ever get to be at my desk in the early morning anymore, with a full time job outside my home. During this cold, dark half of the year, in fact, most often when I'm sitting here (in this new comfy reclining desk chair that was a birthday gift to myself last November) it's quite dim or dark. As I type this at 3pm, however, it is fully sunny. But there's not the slightest glare on my screen, both because the sun is on the other side of the house now, and this matte screen is awesome.

Promoting creativity? I guess keeping my desk tidy helps. All that shelf clutter is behind me when I'm scrapping. I think I get my creative inspiration more from what I'm seeing on the screen and what I happen to have photographed or been thinking recently anyway.

And for the curious, this is the "breakfast nook" off my kitchen and family room. Very much in the center of life in my house, which I did originally over a decade ago as a busy full time homeschooling mom, but even now still enjoy.

My house (built in 1908) has a small loft bedroom at the back of the house, separate from the main second floor, and with its own separate staircase. This is my home office and scrappy space, and I love it.

I use a laptop on a lap desk, and I sit on my couch in the family room, off of the kitchen. In the early morning, there is glare from the sun through the east-facing windows, but I can adjust my seating spot along the couch to avoid the glare.

I scrap/design on my desktop in a corner of my bedroom. I do have a window in my back but if it's too bright I can close the curtains and light from the windows on my rigth is enough.

For MOC ;)
It's no longer that tidy lol

I had to set up a permanent "home" once I got my PC last year so I am set up in front of my window on a very trusty old desk with a office chair....its not perfect but it works. If I had my way I would shift my PC tower to on top of a small bookcase so that I have more working space (as my computer and all its accessories take up the bulk of the desk) that is next to my desk but it has a pile of books and bits I need to sort out.

Previously to that when I had my laptop, I was either using it in bed on my bad days of health or before that sitting at the dining room table. I had to shift from there though a few years back as it was becoming way too dangerous to sit there because of some idiots damaging the house over a number of years

I scrap in my office at my desk. It’s the same place as my work from home space so can be a little distracting . . . :lol2

I
have kind of ridiculously sensitive eyes so I mostly keep the blinds drawn in my office or I spend the whole day squinting trying to see my screen. I have been thinking about getting a new laptop for more mobility but I really hate scrapping on a small laptop screen so I’m torn.

When my daughter moved out, her room became my office :) Sometimes I take my laptop into the living room if we are watching something on tv or if I am just commenting here and there, but for the most part I'm in the office with the laptop connected to a bigger monitor for scrapping. I have a window behind me that looks out over the backyard and woods behind the house, and I have a window right beside me with a view of the side yard and the road.

I have my MacBook set up on my desk in my spare room, so I normally sit at the desk and scrap. Although my chair is not very comfortable and the room does get cold in the winter. Time for a room make over soon I think

I have a computer nook off of our kitchen with double monitors. That's where I sit during the day when I have time (which isn't very often). It's a pretty and cozy spot and the lighting is good...but it's not as comfy as my couch. At night, when the kids are in bed, I'll take my laptop to the couch and work/scrap.

This top photo was just taken this month. I have smaller lamps on my credenza/dresser than I did in the bottom photo, which was taken in January 2022. I share the bottom photo to show the space I'm in, which used to be our garage but we closed it in back in 2003/2004. My roller cart in the corner is for my planner supplies. The dresser holds all my paints, brushes, adhesives, etc.
