Whatcha doing today?

Walked the dog (got in 1.6 miles), cleaned up the kitchen, showered, waited for the farm truck, loaded up and delivered produce (drove 63 miles, walked another 2.5 miles). It is corn and watermelon season, so the boxes are heavier. Got home, did that Facebook thing, converted some templates to .page format, made dinner, cleaned the kitchen again, and here I am waiting for it to be 9pm so I can do the Slow Scrap...

Oh, I found some photos on my phone from our vacation. Always a good thing to find them before you need them.

I will definitely have to make a paper with the kids making proper s'mores!! I almost picked up marshmallows that were almost as big as the palm of my hand, but when with the square ones, I didn't think the pizza box would be deep enough for the other ones.

I'm hoping for a cooler winter this year too!! Especially after the way summer is going!

Ooo...that sounds great. Fire pits are so cool. You'll have to do a LO on your first s'more cookout.

We usually make s'mores in the winter when we have the fireplace going. Love the big, fluffy ones! We didn't make any this year because it just didn't get cold enough to have the fireplace blazing hardly at all. I'm hoping this year we actually have a winter. I'm so jealous of all the glorious snow pictures I see.

You've had a busy week, Jan. Did you get your posters made? I remember you were asking for kit ideas to go with the drawing. Would love to see the finished product.

Try to get some rest as soon as you can. I'm tired just reading about everything you've done...lol.
Yes, I did. I'll post it tomorrow. I think I used 5 different kits to get what I needed, but I got them done. Thanks for asking!! :hehe

We're on vacation. We slept in after a late night at an outdoor play. Today we swam at the resort pool, went out to lunch and took a nap. We're just enjoying being lazy. I don't want to go home tomorrow.

I worked today- but my kids are at my mom's house all week on the other side of the state- so after work, I didn't have to hurry to any softball games or home to make dinner! The hubby & I grilled some burgers & just ate leftovers. SO nice to just relax after work! ;)

That sounds so fun, Kayla! Glad you're enjoying your summer vacation.

I worked but am off tomorrow. My game plan is to dust off my Silhouette. My hybrid skills haven't been put to work for the last six months since I've been doing strictly digital.

Also got a text from Harrison's soccer coach that Fall practices resume Thursday, but he has a basketball game that night for his summer league. It's all starting again too soon!

I'm going paint balling with my students and there will be a school party with bbq later.
The weather is supposed to be horrible though. Lots of colleagues were going sailing or boating with their classes. But it's raining and there are thunderstorms coming. So now they have to pick something else, quickly. I'm glad I'm going to be inside during the day.
This is normally my day off, so I'm not too excited. But it will probably be more fun when I get there.

Yesterday - lots of grading in the morning. Taught 2 classes in the afternoon. And then we had our new first years (college) students and their parents coming for an information thing. Some things went totally wrong, students in wrong classes, no info packets for some, etc. Luckily not my fault, but it's still annoying that we didn't get to give them the first impression we wanted and planned for.

(2,5 weeks to go until summer vacation)

today has felt like 1 step forward, 2 steps back. I'm putting it behind me and trying to just chill! i think i need to scrap disney - happy thoughts!

mmm ... s'mores sounds so yummy. and i LOVE house shopping ... enjoy and good luck!

my DD and I walked the rail trail for about 5 miles. cleaned the house and then we went to her guitar lesson and shopping for a sleepover/pool party she is having today. while she is busy later with her GFs i will sneak away for some scrapping time and try to finish a book i started reading.

My day flew by yesterday and I think today will be more of the same. I have lots of little mundane things to do (aside from my desk work). Laundry, groceries, meal planning and dropping off and picking up Taz from doggie daycare today. Yesterday I brought my car in for servicing as the steering wheel controls for the in-dash radio/GPS/phone/backup camera wasn't working properly. So I'm proud of my hubs for mostly getting it all installed correctly except for that one little thing. Now I just have to learn how to use it :)

I've been sorting thru clothes, making piles of what fits, what doesn't and what should soon fit. For anyone who doesn't know, I'm down 40 lbs (getting close to goal) which I'm so happy with and feel so much healthier but it does suck about the clothes not fitting and having to send to charity some pieces that I just love but it's all for a good cause, my health is more important than a fave pair of jeans. It is fun to shop for new stuff too, of course.

gaah!! I have no idea what I'm doing. We got back Saturday night from being gone on a school trip. I've caught up on laundry and my daughter and I have been slowly cleaning the house. My son has been cleaning out his room and my daughter is slowly going through her clothes and starting to make lists of what she needs to take for college. I've been trying to get caught up with gardening.

Well, I thought I'd hang out at home today cuz the weather is nice and I wanted the kids to play outside. But DD fell off her bike last night. Her elbow hurt but she could move it and it wasn't swelling. Ibuprofen helped with pain. Then this morning she said it hurt A LOT more and it started to swell.

So we are currently in ER. She fractured her humerus and we are waiting on ortho for info on what will happen next. I'm trying to remember my Happy List ...

A day later here...

Yesterday I cleaned the garage while the kids played outside. Then we went up to the creek and played in the water for a couple of hours. Then my older girls had piano. Then I took dinner to a friend who just had a baby (a huge thanks to my older daughter who helped me get it cooked!) and then we had a family birthday party to go to! Whew! No wonder I didn't check in the forum yesterday.

Today I loaded up the kids nice and early and dropped my oldest daughter off to driver's ed (Ackkk!! - she's driving on the road, people!), then the rest of us went out for brkfst and then headed to a doc appointment for my 2 youngest, then we went to the library while we waited for my daughter to get done with driver's ed, came home, ate lunch, cleaned some bathrooms, read some books with the littles and got them in bed for a nap, worked out and now my kids are watching Cars 2 (which we scored at the Library). We'll head to church later this evening.

Ouch @Tree City Seems that there has been a lot of hospital visits going round these days. I guess that's what summer means with children!

Yesterday I had an energy works session and then a pedicure.

I'd planned to get a manicure also but the manicurist was kind of rough so I passed. Then I met up with friends and had some good talk and finally watched another episode of "Shetland". I'd read the books and really wanted to go - then I saw the landscape weather and have passed on that idea!

I'm trying to remember what we did Tuesday... My daughter being gone this week at her grandparents' really makes the days all run together. I think we went to 'the food store' (what DS calls Walmart & Aldi) and the post office ('the letter store').

Yesterday we went back to the food store (Walmart) to return something, bought something else at another food store (Meijer), had a snack in the van, went to the library, visited with my people nephew and fur nephew at their house, tried to get DS to take a nap (fail!), and heated up leftovers for dinner while we waited on DH to get home from work.

Today we're laying low at the house because I need to pack us for vacay tomorrow! We have Family Dinner at my parents' house tonight (like we do every Thursday) and then DH wants to clean out the van before bed.

We'll leave as soon as DH gets off work tomorrow, stay the night at his parents' house & pick up our daughter and his son, and then leave early Saturday morning to drive the rest of the way to Tennessee to his brother's lake house.

Sitting in the front of the speedboat as it's zipping across the water with the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, & the mountains surrounding us is one of my favorite things on Earth so I can't wait for this weekend! I couldn't find a bathing suit that would properly cover up and support the gurls so that my 9yo, 12yo, and 14yo nephews (and 15yo stepson for that matter) wouldn't be scarred for life so I can't go *in* the water but at least I can sit on top of it. :giggle

We are going to take the kids to the Living Computer museum in Seattle. Connor had heard about it so we decided to go there for our filed trip this week. I'm afraid he might be disappointed but the old folks among the group should enjoy perusing the myriad of old computers that are in the museum. :compcoffee

We've been sooooo lazy. I am FINALLY getting a chance to do some scrap work. I never realize how depressed I get when I can't be creative for awhile. Then it takes me forever to get back into a groove. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyway...the boys have been have WAY too much video game time but I keep telling myself that it's summer and they deserve it ;)
