what type of person | pad patter 4.5.22

I used to be B. I’ve run on fumes many times, ended up running out twice and had to walk to a gas station miles away.
Now I’m C and let my husband (who is an A) take care of it!

I'm probably more of a B. I dislike pumping gas and will wait until my husband can do it if possible. LOL!

C. I don't have a license. LOL

Hey! It's good to see your face again! So without a license, what's your preferred method to getting around town (or are you like me and order everything for delivery)?

I'm definitely an A. Ran out of gas on an interstate exit about a mile from the gas station with no gas can. It turned out to be a funny story, but it could have resulted in me being hurt or abducted or something. I was so foolish. Jay knows that when I say it's time to get gas, it's over 1/2 a tank. LOL

It depends on the weather, lol. I usually fill up just before the light comes on.

I prefer however, to suggest we take my car on dates or errands with my husband and he will always pump it for me. This is also a good way to get the car washed.

Affter the massive fire a few miles from here (almost 1000 homes burned with evacuations), I am double thinking my strategy….I should fill up sooner than I do in case of emergency.

Well, if we're doing grocery shopping, Urban (dh) drives. Or I walk if it's just something small. And to work, I either go with Urban or by bus. I admit, it was easier when we lived in a big city & public transport was better. But I'm too old now to bother getting a license, and it's way too expensive these days.

We don't have bus service or train service where I live. In fact, most of the roads don't even have pedestrian sidewalks or bike lanes. That's why I asked. :)

I guess it's a bit better here in Sweden. Sidewalks and bike lanes almost everywhere. I think there could be more busses, but 1 or 2 every hour is ok, I guess, compared to none at all. LOL

No buses here either. City streets do have sidewalks (my neighborhood doesn't since it isn't in city limits) but no bike lanes. We do have railroad tracks that cut the town right in half but no trains stop since there are no passenger trains on it anymore, just freight. When I was a kid, Mom and I would hop on the train right here in town and go to Cincinnati to spend a week with her best friend from high school. Those were the days. Sadly, the train station is used for storage by the railroad these days. And, no taxis here either. Not even sure if you could get an Uber either! Majority of the people have licenses/cars around here but once in awhile I'll see someone walking or on a bicycle with their shopping bags. Around here, golf carts are becoming quite popular during nice weather.

I'm more on the B side of things than the A, but I don't let it get down all the way to E. When my "approximate miles" gets down to 30-40, I refill.

C. When the estimated # of miles left gets about 50 to 60, I fill up. For my Spark, that was about 2 gallons left in a 9 gallon tank. Not sure with the Equinox, I still have the full tank from the day of purchase. I've only gone to the grocery twice since then and the grocery is about a mile from my house.
Don't you love the Equinox?! This is my second one.. we traded mine in for the 2019... we just hit 3500 miles :) Love Love Love it!

I tend to be a B person.. LOL my car has an estimated mileage of how many more miles it will go with the gas in the car.. as long as the gas gage works we are ok LOL

It is bigger than the Spark so a lot to get used to. And, I got every safety feature I could so a lot to learn there as well. I just wish the weather wasn't so crappy. I hate driving in the rain especially in a car I'm not used to so I haven't gone out much.

well you will love it.. I had a 2008 that I traded..it had low mileage as well and it was fully loaded - a lot of it like the sunroof - I never used, but my heated seats, now that is fabulous.. the new one also has heated seats and has the back up viewer but I still love it.. so comfy to drive :) Enjoy your new vehicle!

I refused to get a sunroof. Never ever wanted one. Spark had the back up viewer so that is not new to me. I used the heated steering wheel when I went to the grocery today. Even on that 1 mile drive, it felt good. I know I'll get good use out of the heated seats once I drive more than a couple miles.

I will usually fill up at around 50 miles until empty unless I'm on a road trip. Then I fill up at the 1/4 tank left mark.

we don't have a heated steering wheel.. the sunroof came with the 2008.. I bought it off the lot and it had a lot of bells and whistles.. in the 10 years I owned it, I think I used the sunroof 3 times.. LOL.. I had melanoma so I always had it closed.. not interested in a sunroof either :) Our charcoal grey 2019 is wonderful with exactly what we wanted.. again off the lot but it had heated seats.. I could care less about everything else (except AC :) ) LOL. I like to keep warm in the cold :) Enjoy the ride!

I figured this could very well be the last vehicle I purchase so I was very picky about what I got. So I ordered it on July 29, 2021 and finally got it March 25, 2022. I don't put a lot of miles on a vehicle so with regular maintenance they last quite awhile. I got my 2001 Blazer in 2003 with around 35,000 miles on it. I sold it in 2016 with about 95,000 miles on it. And, my 2016 Spark had a whopping 11,414 miles on it when I traded it in. Of course, not going anywhere for the last couple of years helped with that. But even when I was working I only put about 7 miles on the car every day going back and forth to work. I do hope to do some traveling by car in the next year so having a bigger, safer car was my priority. Also, it has more room for stuff in the back!

ditto re when I was working.. I only drove 8miles (16 round trip) one way daily and we only went on a few long trips in it but the Equinox' are real roomy.. glad you got it and safe driving :)

I'm more of a relaxed A. I hate to drop below 1/4 tank and if I go on a drive that is over 1/2 hr away I always fill up before I head out.

C. I don't have a license. LOL

^^^^

this is me but in terms of my transit card I'm definitely more of an A, I top up generally as soon as it's around $10 and I always make sure I have a spare $20 in my wallet in case I need to get a taxi anywhere

I'm A most of the time! I have made mistakes before and turned into a B! :lol
