I'm A - "oh my gosh, I need to fill up!" My mama taught me to always keep the gas tank gauge in the top half. She considered the half mark as empty. :giggle

fun fact: Did you know the arrow by the gas pump on your dash tells you which side the tank is on to fill up? So in this photo the tank is on the left. :agree

C. When the estimated # of miles left gets about 50 to 60, I fill up. For my Spark, that was about 2 gallons left in a 9 gallon tank. Not sure with the Equinox, I still have the full tank from the day of purchase. I've only gone to the grocery twice since then and the grocery is about a mile from my house.

C…. Lately, I get a fill up (or as filled as it needs, maybe that’s called a top off, lol?!) once a week on Thursdays. Currently, I fill up at Costco, it’s the cheapest around here. It was $3.80 last time I did last week. My car has a 25 gallon tank.

A for sure! If gas is at a good price, I fill up all the cars before the price goes up. It recently dropped from $4.15 to $3.83 and I jumped before it went up. We don't go very far, so we don't have to fill up much. We also have 3 cars for 2 people, so if one car is low, just take another! lol DD lives within minutes, so I can bike or walk there. Can also walk to Wal Mart or vet in minutes as well. My husband recently walked to the car repair shop as well. It's convenient for sure!

B stresses me right out. I cannot ever let my tank go below 1/4 of a tank without it causing me anxiety. So I routinely fill when I get to a 1/4 tank.

I am A for sure. I prefer to keep it above half a tank. But I am married to B and it drives me bonkers hehe. He would drive on fumes if he could. That puts me in straight panic mode haha.

A or C @ 1/4.
Petrol (gas) is going up at mid night tonight so all the cars have been filled up at the cheaper rate.
Hubby has started doing this for us all.

I used to be B. I’ve run on fumes many times, ended up running out twice and had to walk to a gas station miles away.
Now I’m C and let my husband (who is an A) take care of it!

C? If it's just me, I usually fill up at about 1/4 tank. I've rarely let it get to the "low fuel light on" stage (usually because I just haven't noticed sooner). Currently, DH and I mostly share a car. He is willing to go out of his way to get cheaper gas, while to me it's not worth it to save about $1 on an entire tank of gas (it's a smallish tank). Since I know that bugs him, I will usually just give him a heads up when I see it's getting low and he will take care of it. :)

I can be a B sometimes, and I'm rarely an A. So maybe a C? I don't really let it get to E, but I almost always run it until the light comes on, which in my car is about a 30 mile range. I actually got the 40 miles to go "ding" as I was pulling in my driveway this evening. I guess I'll be getting gas in the morning at some point in my commute lol.

I'm in between those. For many years, I tended to wait until the gas warning light comes on. Once I even let it go too far and stalled. One of the nice things about having an 18 year old car is knowing how far I can go with the warning light on. But in the past year, because my driving routine has changed, I get gas sooner because I like to get it at a certain gas station near my grocery store. So if it's grocery day and my tank is at ¼ I'll get gas. Not stressed, but just because I'll be passing my preferred gas station.

Yes, I do know about the symbol indicating which side the tank is on. Learned so long ago I don't remember when.

Something strange in this image! The F and E are switched. I'm sure in my car, at least, F is on the left and E is on the right.

I fill up when my gas light comes on (50 miles of driving distance). I’ve never completely depleted a car of gas. My goal is to never run out of gas, but minimize the number of times I have to go to the gas station.

I learned my lesson about filling up back in 1978. I ran out as I pulled in to the gas station. My gas gauge still showed 1/4 of a tank. Turns out the mechanical item in my 1964 Ford Falcon was damaged and wasn't registering the amount of gas correctly. Got that fixed and never let that vehicle go below 1/2 tank ever again!

This was me. I've run out of gas twice, once on the interstate and had to stay in the car overnight until a nice state cop stopped and drove me and my DD home.

Until the pandemic I was often waiting for the gas light to come on, mostly b/c I don't fill up often and forget to check the gauge. However I now fill up at a half-tank "just in case."

And Rene ... one of the cars was a 1964 Ford Custom 500 ... I was a teenager and the gauge showed a quarter-tank. Needless to say my father didn't get it repaired, so I put gas in at a half tank. Come to think of it, the '76 Trans Am was also showing a quarter-tank when the gas ran out ...
